ok, tonight i get to see my first love.....BLACK EFFEN SABBATH. i know that alot of you can take them or leave them, but growing up i didnt know too much about the Dead, or the ABB; Sabbath was the beginning and end for me. I think what their appeal for me stemmed from Ozzy seeming to sing for the average person, the poor, the backstreet kid....man, that hit home and their music helped me get through some very difficult times growing up. now that i'm getting older and a bit calmer (i swear!), i dont listen to the Sab ablums as much as i once did, but since i've only seen the original lineup 5 or 6 times, it still gets me all worked up.....i'd knock ozzy out of the way to get to tony iommi and hopefully i'll have the chance too tonight when i go backstage for rock and wrap it up.... there is always a ton of food left over from the Ozfest, but they allow me to sneak up front for part of the show....this time, i will take advantage of that little perk. if i am a lucky, lucky girl i might get to see them backstage if i get there early enough. anyway, Tony Iommi has a new album coming out today with Glen Hughes, its supposed to be pretty decent.....so if you are a fan please get it, check it out and let me know what you think! i have to wait till friday to pick it up, this single gal's gotta budget! so thats my night tonight....gotta love Rock and Wrap, charity work that helps more then just hungry people! YAHOO!!!

While waiting on the line to go in to see the taping of Carson Daly, with DB+GS as the house band, I met some folks, who were big music fans too. Also, they were a band, Walker and The Brotherhood of The Grape. It was my pleasure to chat with them, and they gave me and Ken their CD, "Almost Homeless". I popped it into the car CD today, and from the first note, I was enjoying it. Thanks so much for the disc guys! I recommend it to all! Hope to see you guys on the road. Mitch

"el chicano?" THAT caught my eye. apparently, for those of you who are elderly like me (or just plain weird, also like me) that's THE "el chicano" of "viva tirado" and other 70's era latino rock hits, with some number of original members. tres cool! dang, that's one we'd sure head out early to see, i had NO idea these guys were still around, but they've been touring and playing off and on for 30+ years. i'd be really surprised if someone from the ABB doesn't sit in, if they're aware of who's playing ahead of them! too dang cool! http://www.elchicanomusic.com/home.htm

Saw the Cleveland show last night, after Toledo last Wednesday, also Columbus and Cincinnati shows coming up. I normally knock off a little review on any ABB or DB&GS shows I go to, but I'm really torn on what to say about these last 2 shows. I think I'll wait 'til my 4 shows are finished before I write out what I'm really thinking. However, there are some really nice highlights for the Summer,'05 version of the ABB. I really like the new instrumental, Egypt. I think this is a fantastic piece of music, Warren and Derek have really torn it up both nights. The two of them together on stage, DT on guitar, Warren on vocals, did a very cool Preachin' Blues. I'm going to reserve judgement on the whole thing until after the Cincy show. See y'all in Cowtown and Cincy, Ted

Hittin' the Note magazine has now joined the Allman Brothers tour and will have a tent at most shows from here on out. Cleveland was a great concert to start with!!! WOW - killer set list! Today, we will be at Lansing - please come by and say hi and bring a friend to subscribe! We have two front row seats for most of the shows that we are giving away to whomever brings us the most subscribers prior to the ABB going on (minimum of 5 subscriptions). Typically, we will announce the winner of the two front row tickets 30 minutes before the ABB is scheduled to play. Last night a few folks got creative and bought 5 years worth of subscriptions! We are learning and fine tuning this program as we go - but wanted to add some real sizzle to our efforts to grow the magazine and couldn't think of a better prize to give away! Thanks for participating - last night the winners were smack dab in front of Derek! See you in Michigan! JNB

deezee - The gates open at 5:30 tonight. Show starts at 7:30, with some band called El Chicano opening. Not sure what the ABB timeslot is, but I can probably find out today. If you're going, get there early if you want to see the opening band as the lines are LOOOOONG and take quite a while to move. If you don't care about the opening band, I'd show up at around 8:30 as the crowd will already be inside. Of course, then you'll have a hard time finding someplace to sit. It will be very crowded! Wally, I'll PM you my cell number. Call me if you have any questions but yes, you can walk from the Nuthouse to the festival. It's maybe 1/4 to 1/2 mile, if that. There's a parking lot right across the street from the Nut House and the baseball stadium. I would suggest parking there and walking. If anyone else has questions, PM me. :koolaid: :koolaid:

Hello Gang !!!! We survived Dennis. The town lost power but we did not. Phone lines were down awhile. Listened to ABB,DTB. and Mule on shuffle during storm. The wind got to about 60-70 MPH and was a little scary. It rained about 6-8 inches. About 20 miles south of me the wind got to close to 100 MPH. It tore them up pretty bad. but we only got the outside band of the storm. We were blessed that the storm moved west as much as it did. After Ivan, we were pretty worried when Dennis came ashore. As it started moving due north straight at us. Again it started moving north west and did not do a bunch of damage to us. One big tree down on my road and one big one on Mama's. A bunch of stuff to clean up in the yard. Thanks to JoeRoy and Aikens for the calls. Thanks for Jody,Bluedad and Brain for the concern and thoughts. Thanks to all. We all Thanked God last nite in a meeting. Light
