Ha, ha, ya'll make me feel lucky, I was at both Atlanta festivals AND Woodstock, although I didn't get to stay too long at the second Atlanta festival...those were the days, for sure! I would settle for going back to 5/17/05--I sure hope I get to hear that show again one way or another!

If you guys recall, there was somespeculation last year that this year would be "it".Rumors had Butch hurting and unable to continue to tour, and even Butch himself hinted something would be coming down the pike for this year. But we are seeing the last leg of this year's tour come down to the end, and no mention of if this is the last year, yada yada. I only mention it because overall, the reviews for this year have been very good. And crowd size has been as good as previous tours....agreed? We talk about this every year, i.e. what the future will be. I hope the Band gives it another year. This year was good and did not hear or read any credible bad press. So, here is to the Brothers! Hope you guys stay healthy and happy and enjoy playing. You know, I have to admit something. And its going to rub some the wrong way (like duh if I say "boo" it rubs some the wrong way), but you just have to think about the big picture for a second. SOOOOOO many bands the age of the Allman Brothers that are touring today are, for the most part, tribute bands. I'm not going to pick on LS but can we say vegas show here. But think about it. Was the ABB headed for the same demise??? On the one hand, if Dickey had stayed, no band or at least no new writing. In comes Warren, and all of a sudden, the set list totally transforms. Now, I will raise my hand and be the FIRST to admit I miss certain tunes that Dickey totally owns with his playing, but, in hindsight, did the entrance of Warren keep this Band from falling into the black hole of county fairs and otherwise crappy gigs? In my opinion, I can see a kernal of truth in that. Point? Business. Coke changes its product, GM changes body styles, clothes style change and we all accept that. Should music fall into that same sort of thinking. Well, it does in some respect with some acts, but some bands do not even want to go there. I realize there were other issues with Dickey, but in the final analysis, did the Band not only save itself, but recreated itself at the same time? Think about it.

Hey Deezee, I think you have been fooled by magi's "dream setlist." The Brothers play Red Rocks tonight, so unless you have a time machine, there's no way to know how the show was 🙂 And if you DO have a time machine, come up off it and let me go to Woodstock! 😉

Finally recovered from the St Louis show Friday night. I think the best show of the Summer. I told Sarge before the show that it was the anniversary of the 9/16 Warehouse show so maybe we'll get a good show tonight. I went with lurker Sarge (he came out of lurk today in the GB) He won the HTN front row seats. We sat front row center between Warren & Derek. As close to my dream setlist as possible in a 2 hour+ show. No covers other than my favorite, Who's Been Talking. Opened with OWO and closed with Whippin Post. Other than at the Fox last year the first Post I've heard since the 6/16/01 Louisville Speedway show. closed the set with Dreams>Leave my Blues AT Home>Drums>bass>jam>Jessica Gregg blew a verse of Come & Go Blues. Was kind of funny he starts off Round and Round then stumbles tries again Round & Round again stumbles Then just says Round and gives up. But he made a good save with the Sail On verse. I'm starting to get tired of Woman Across the River but this was pretty enjoyable, had a really good exchange between Derek & Warren. Ended a great evening with the longest line I've ever seen for the Instant Live. And of course what's an ABB show with out stopping at the Waffle House afterwards

OK first things first. Many thanks to JNB/HTN for my front row experience and the daughter that pulled my ticket. Very cool shirt btw. There was definately some kind of cosmic alignment happening that day.. it's a long list but just of it is 1>crossing into St. Louis with the fuel light on and not running out of gas. 2>recalling that my last ABB Sept show was in '95. I had won the "best seat" through a local Indy radio station but evan then wondered if I could make it through the entire show w/out alcohol or other chemicals. Taking care of that for today with a daily reprieve since Aug 10, 2001. Gratitude flood... 3>Standing behind Devons mom and recalling that maybe she was a newlywed around this time back in the Warehouse era. 4>Having Fast 43 point out that 9/16 was indeed a Warehouse show night and making me proud to be his friend when he did his good deed in letting her know her glasses had fallen out of her purse. 5>Bemoaning to Mr. Bell and Mr. Potter that Derek still has my Django Rhinehart T-shirt. It's famous now.. as it's in the 99 promo shot from the front patio of the Big House. 6>Having my sox blown off by one of the strongest sets of the summer and getting my best Warren performance since the summer of True Gravity and first Whipping Post since 2000. 7>Being truly blessed that I can home here and post. And better off know, that you all know...all things peach.
