Was priviledged this past Friday night to see Warren Haynes and band at the House of Blues in Cleveland. As was expected an unbelievable performance. Warren was obviously enjoying himself and was having fun with the band. Played a great version of What is Hip from Tower of Power. Part of the greatness was the addition of a sax player - same could be said about Gregg who I saw earlier in the Spring in Columbus. And the addition of Bill Evans with his sax at one of last years ABB UPT shows and at the Tower in Philly got me thinking about the band with a permanent sax player. Maybe it would push too much toward blues and away from southern rock. Anyway I am now one step closer to seeing Gregg, Warren and Derek seperately this summer and then all together one more time at the Beacon next year. "Kiss the blues goodbye".

Check out this great interview with Cowboy members Scott Boyer and Tommy Talton by Michael Buffalo Smith. Some interesting memories about Capricorn Records, the vibe in Macon, and of course, Duane. http://www.blogtalkradio.com/michaelbuffalo/2011/06/19/cowboy-boyer-talton-reunion-special Bill __________________________________________________ Facts are mere pretense to the story, and the storytellers are gods. Oh man, I'm hurting tonight, Clarence was a big part of my NJ youth. The E-Street band played 6 weekends in a row at a bar called Fat City in Seaside Heights NJ back in 73. Leaving one of those shows I side swiped the mayors car @ 2:30 in the morning, right in front of the police station. The long version of this story takes hours to tell but lets just say the cop that arrested me hated me for years and I paid a stiff price. It was the last straw that drove me out of NJ forever. But he was a really cool guy. Very freindly and would come out between sets and sit with the crowd and just hang. A classy dude to say the least. God bless that good mans soul.

Prayers to Nic and all others that need them. Happy Father's Day to all those Dad's. I get to spend mine alone as my wife and younger daughter are at college orientation that day. My older daughter got special acknowledgement from the chancellor of UCSC for the highest GPA (3.96) over 4 years for her major. Couldn't be prouder, after all she was a kid whose Dad was voted "most likely to do hard time" in high school.
