Anyone have any GA tixs for tonight's show in C-ville? They have sold out all GA and only a few (pricey) Orch seats are left
It's him!
RickT in spite of his numerous errors, miscalulations, incorrect political stances, is sometimes almost a nice guy.
nightBIRD, I'm gettin' old, it's hard to remember new names!
But, I'll try! 😉
OK, nightbird let's really see if you are who you say you are....
Is Idlewildrickt your bestest buddy, or do you simply tolerate him..kinda..barely...on good days.
I thought retiring B72 was a cool idea, a Pandoras box as usual 🙂
I still have the Red Rocks glow, what memories. I'll never forget sitting in front of Warren and Gregg and getting textbook, back to school, Allman 101 done in perfection. And my old buddy Ernie sent the show to me........ thinks that best get played now. May go right to the Whipping Post end.
Libby, stick around for a while. "Live" a happy woman. Nice review of last night.
hey man! if you notice real quick there is now a fake Bird72 online
BIRD!
Allright! Was wondering how you were doing. Great to hear from you, Brother!
Happy Reviews! Libby great.....
yes this is Bird (the artist formely known as Bird72). I retired Bird72 handle, because of net hijinks, and want to say any posts by "Bird72" AND PM's are not me now..... as the plot weirdens....
is it me? here? let's see...... YUP
Just talked to world traveller Matt (origapch), calling from the Knoxville airport.
He'll soon be in VA for the Charlottesville show.
He said last night was great, full of energy and the surprises (we've already seen about that here....)
Hoping tonight is another great one....it's about time for me to "get sick" so I can get the heck out of work....
Tell it Sister Libby! Lib, as good a day as this is to die, you might want to wait till after the JFD.......:clown:
Lib, seriously..I love Ya, and thanks for your review.....
:clapping: Drew! It is a special treat when a Mama can enjoy the music with her babies!!! eapfp, Ca
Oh my goodness, I am still whizzed from Knoxville's show! I had mentioned to a friend that if the Brothers topped 9/26/04 last night for my one and only show of the year that I could die a happy woman. They did! They did! ....and again, they did!!
If I happen to die today, it's been nice knowin' all y'all and God Bless the Allman Brothers Band.
  😀
I let that mean Jack Pearson make me out a fool ;).....but it was worth it! Wooooohooooo! 😆
I took a breather during EHW (out in the smoking area) and struck up a conversation with a gentleman who had not seen the Brothers in years. He said, "Who is that young guy with the red guitar, he's incredible?!" I then heard my son say, "Oh Lord, here we go!" I commenced a tellin' that fine gentleman all about Mr. Derek Trucks! Yes, I did!
K, I'm done, y'all have a blessed day!
have I ever mentioned? I LOVE JACKIE!!!! :clapping: THANKS to everyone who took the time to review and sharing your joy...
they must be saving the BEST Bass player in the circle of friends for last...Id like to see Elizabeth sit in on Bass :guitar:!!!!!
Randy, your post made my day..I just finished burning that 5 disc ABB Blues set for Jackie and Elizabeth......I would have hated trusting it to LR to get it to them :bash:.....
:reddancer: Dimples!

hey gang good morning:cool:
sounds like if was an Incredible night with Jack P and the band:mohawk:
We got to the Knoxville Civic Center in the afternoon to find our good buddy, Jaimoe, practicing on his new drums. It’s a fine looking set with grey, sparkly, metallic colors that sound great! During a break, Jaimoe regaled us with some fun tales of “Woody” who was Otis Redding’s drummer that, by threatening to quit Otis’s band, helped Jaimoe get his gig with Otis. Woody is going to visit the Brothers in Charlottesville today.
One of the local stage hands also came up to Jaimoe and explained that in 1970 the ABB played in the very same building, but in a different, smaller room. This guy did the lights for them that night 35 years ago and was invited, on the spot, to accompany the band up to Boston, New York and several other cities to continue his work. It was quite an experience for this man to see the full power and glory of the original band - you could see it in his eyes as he told his tale.
I heard a very funny story involving Jack Pearson as he was on his way to the venue last night. Warren’s flight schedule got all screwed up due to mechanical failures so it was uncertain what time he would get to the gig (he made it on time). Jackie P. told Kirk not to worry, that as long as Warren got there at some point in the night, they would let him sit in on Southbound!
The story on Statesboro is that the band asked Jack what he wanted to play on - and just to mess with them he said “I want to play bass on Statesboro Blues!” Sure enough, when it came time for the song, Jack picks up Oteil’s bass and Butch sees him with it and starts laughing and saying WTF?! WTF?! It made for a great moment! We all kidded Jack that his wife, Elizabeth, taught him all he needed to know about the bass. Later in the evening we asked Oteil about his job security - first Derek, now Jack – everyone wants to be a bass player! Oteil has made it THE “glamour” position. LOL! Derek played bass along with Oteil after the outstanding drum solo - what a night!
It was a wonderful, wonderful show - the first half was outstanding but the second half really soared with those three guitarists on stage, grins all around. Jack would play some underlying support rhythm that would add so much to the sound and his leads were so tasty! Everyone was rested and in good spirits and a lot of fun was had on stage and in the audience. Great to see Donna, Matt, Krishna, Poptart, George, Angie from Atlanta and several others – thanks for stopping by the HTN table! We got to raffle the two front row seat off again last night – and two die hard ABB fans won! They are on the road following the band for the whole week – I love it when that happens!
Time to get back on the road – Knoxville was a fine, fine start to this last week of the tour – look out Charlottesville, Raleigh, Atlanta, Charlotte – these boys are primed! Come by and say hi at the Hittin’ the Note tent before each show and subscribe or renew your subscription to the magazine and get in on the front row seats raffle!
See ya!
