That's great news Karen! As you know I asked for everyone's prayers on the GB for my wife Lisa's tests. Well they came back negative for cancer! Although she's scheduled for surgery on Feb. 14, Valentine's Day, we are very relieved and putting everything in God's hands. I have absolutely no doubt that the prayers from our "extended family" helped. May God bless you and yours and I look forward to seeing you and Lynn down the road again.

Tommy, a thumb transplant?? I guess that was easier than replacing certain components of the thumb? Re: color of the new thumb, I'd be more concerned about functionality. I agree, I'd be miffed at the docs for not at least asking me for an opinion. Glad to see you back at the keyboard typing your progress reports. How long is the rehabilitation expected to take? Continued healing vibes to you. Sister Karen, I am truly inspired by your report on Lavonne. Congrats on the new addition to the family as well. Prayers continuing for the Bomberry family.

Thank you all sooo much. We tell our blood family all the time about the great extended family we are blessed to have and love from afar. Sometimes they do think we are a bit strange at the things we do, like going to places we've never been or to meet people we've never met. What we have been given by all of you is beyond beautiful and it is something that cannot be described by mere words. It is at times like these that it deepens that love we share and it definitely bridges any amount of distance we are to each other. We have some good news, well it's great news. I know that many of you have experienced the ups and downs that accompany an illness such as this and believe me, we are all taking this for what it's worth. One day at a time. Lynn's family went literally from not knowing what was going to happen in the next hour to going to her hospital room in the next and seeing a smile that lit up the room. It was truly amazing. No need to go into all the details but it was grim at best. The family being so large took/is taking shift duty at the hospital, shift duty during the days, some went to work, some stayed there, some tended to the children at different homes, everyone did something for one another but when it was all said and done the family came together as one and prayed. We asked for what would be best, put it on the table and asked for a sign. And I truly believe that sign came in three. One being Lynn's brother and his wife had a baby boy last night, same hospital, different floor. She was not due until next week...still shocked does not describe the feeling. Two, she was not ready to go anywhere (her words)...she has things to do, things to say and people to see. She asked and put her faith in a higher power and asked everyone to do the same. She requested the grandchildren to be taken to her in 3's, 4's, 6's, etc. and she talked to them and they prayed....it was something I've ever seen. Her eyes sparkled so. Three, the prayers, love and the many postive vibes sent from all of you here. Somehow an energy formed and what can only be descibed as universal love and strength created a prayer circle embracing her and Lynn's famiy. Tomorrow, well today she will be coming home, albeit with some equipment to comfort her but also with a renewed strength and sheer desire to carry on as long as she is able to. That strength alone is incomprehensible to all of us. The family will be okay...at least for now and what we witnessed in what seemed like hours had to be a miracle. She knows as we all do, it is still a long road ahead and one that she tells us cannot be lived in the past or put on hold, be the best man you can be and the rest will fall into place. Words of wisdom. Thank you all so much once again and know that your outpouring love and support to the Bomberry family has not gone unnoticed, they will see this. Love you all, Karen, Lynn and the entire Bomberry family ps - Donna, thank you so much for the call..love you

RE: Post from Pam-from Woodstock, CT: Tommy what do you mean growing back? I thought it was a thumb transplant? Pammy- there was a...hmmm, sort of gliche after the surgery :-(. The thumb they glued on me apparantly was from a "person of darker color"- actually kinda more mocha brown *(as in Arabian or Pakastani) vs. African American- so they took me back in...and they retranspanted apparently either an English or Irish thumb, hoping for a better match. **I am SO pissed off! Not because of the "alleged" botch- but because they failed to consult me *(I was still under) assuming I would object to a bi-racial left-hand! Had they realized that that that were dealing with a member of the extended Loving family of Duane's Band- I would NOT have objected to the "darker shade of pale" cooler new hand! AND I coulda had a new nickname "Cool-Hand Booth"! Bigots!! 🙁 "People CAN"T you hear it- Love is everywhere"!! 🙂 ...still TAB
