I like what LeAnn says:
GT: What do you think this secret to a good life is?
LAM: Be happy with yourself. Be honest and decent. Wake up every day and know that you will treat people right.
I don't recall any of MY math teachers looking like the picture included in the article. 😀 I could post their picture, but I'd be banned.
Great article about Lefty's friend Lee Ann in Saturday's Gadsden Times. She got almost a full page, nice picture.
Mostly about her background and career as a high school math teacher, but she managed to get Lefty a mention.

hoping for a good week so we can get out of work early Saturday, but it doesnt look that promising yet..my website crashed..mybad, i didnt know to "save" it to my hard drive way back in 06 when I created it , so it is not on my recovery dvd either 🙁
this is what happens when you take Grandmama out of her kitchen 🙁
Kevin really should fire the internet manager, but he claims to still love me too much :bash:
oh, will wear my Jam for Duane shirt, Brother Brent..LOVE the new 2011 Jam For Duane t 🙂
dont know how Brent does it, each year 's design is as good as it gets..
Kevin is likly to wear the JFD/Fillmore shirt, as it honors all the original Brothers or if weather goes downhill , his new Big House long-sleeve ( early Christmas surprise )
Amy, there are plenty of pix of Kevin & I in the pictures section.
Search - Carol , look at pix with my hair shorter, rather than long, it's only been several months since my last Locks of Love donation :tearhair:

music is a gift from a higher power imho, for us to enjoy, revel in , and share good times..
May we all continue to be blessed forever with this music we all love so dearly..
again, this is the time to concentrate extra love and prayers for the Toler family, one and all imho
Thanks to the folks across the pond that support the 'Jam for Duane'. Quite a few JFD and Fillmore shirts sent out to those fans. Amazing how far Duane's influence reaches.
Still have all sizes..get em before they are all gone.
My latest PM from this dear individual was particularly warm and loving and makes my experience here on internet home just so extra special. :bash:
Being called a stupid b i t c h really makes me feel so warm and fuzzy.
Now back to our regularly scheduled programming.
It's a beautiful Blue Sky Sunday. The coffee is perfect and I get the day to myself (I just LOVE football season).
The weeks are tough what with all these frigging Doctor appointments (the knee, the back, the stomach), the disability applications.
It's a blessing that God put this day aside and told us to rest otherwise I'd be trying to vacuum, rake and all those other things I'm not supposed to do. I just keep on keeping on and know (Nic taught me this) that if you keep on top of your health, you stay there - on the top.
Sorry about the bottom feeding. Sometimes I gotta get that stomach acid washed out nice and clean in order to enjoy God's gifts.
Have a great Sunday and God bless y'all (even the acidic ones - he made all of us for one reason for another). Peach.
Carol, if you meet up with this Amy person, give the troll a good kick in the shins for me, will ya?
I was really vunerable a while back, "Amy", but you can't get under my skin anymore. I don't even know why I'm paying you any attention cuz I know thats what you feed on. But trolls gotta eat too, I guess. I'm really looking forward to you crawling back under your rock again sometime soon.
I'm sure my friends will forgive me for speaking my mind. I really hate people who prey on the weak. I'm sure you'll find some other hapless soul to torture because you are nothing but sick piece of s h i t to me. Yeah, I'll pray for you and not to fall in front of an oncoming train either. You can use all the prayers you can get.
Don't send me any of your nasty little PM's anymore, asswipe. You're just a swollen tick on a dirty dog.
Geez, I feel SO much better now. 😀
The dickey Betts interview that I am talking about is on the guestbook section of the dickey betts web site that can be directed from this site. It is a recent posting. Scroll down until there is a picture of a red gibson guitar. If you click that picture a series of pictures come up, one being "an interview with dickey betts"
Thank you for the post, Scott C.
I just watched the dickey betts interview on his website---------wow!-you guys know what I'm talking about. At the end of the interview , he pours what looks to be wine in his glass. Use your own judgements. I say, "what a crying shame"
:birthday: belated :birthday: Lee Ann
right back at Ya Brother xoxox
looking forward to ending this week and heading out to the Sarasota Blues Fest for some LIVE Blues :alienglow:
big hugs and love to you Carol
:angel2:
you too Bman 🙂
Bird, u r so right...
i know Gregg may question why on earth those of us that head for Gadsden AL to enjoy eachother's company , be with folks that knew and played and most importantly loved Brother Duane Allman on the anniversary of his passing, but the truth is, we do to console eachother and to celebrate the 24 years and 11 months he Graced this mean ol world. imho
the day my Angel Heather was born, the nurse handed me the newspaper, thinking it would bear her birth announcement, instead it read Heather Elizabeth McDonald -born April 25, 1977 - died April 25, 1977.
silly Dr's, they should be so lucky to have the loving family life , filled with a Mama and Sweet Daddy that loved her more than life itself, baby Sister & Brother, Red Setters and more Kitties than we could count, Butterflies and Wildflowers, and if memory serves me right, we even had a few too many hamsters after Sugar & Spice turned out to be Miss Sugar and Mr Spice plus love, love, love.
march 13 2002 was the single worst day of my life..but I do take comfort in knowing there are folks at the Beacon, celebrating that exact date,
Enjoying the very same music Heather so dearly loved.
Someone sitting in the exact same spot Kevin, Heather and I sat in March of 2000, enjoying the Allman brother Band LIVE , as so many have , is it forty years now?
i looked for the brick dedicated to your boys while we were at the Big House, but was overcome and unable to find it...wondered have you seen the path yet? at least in pix..
i remember Carol Bluefox telling me she saw to it there was a brick or bricks dedicated to your Sons.
anyway, God bless us all, hope everyone enjoys this beautiful day laid before us
Extra prayers for Brother Gregory, as he contiunes on his path of healing, how can we ever thank him fully for forging forward and giving us all something to look foward to?
Graciously allowing us a glimpse into the blessed /tragic life of the Allman family thru music and song ...
Surviving unthinkable tradgedy, demons and ill, still he forges forward, carries on to reach once again that Mountain summit.....
May God bless the Allman family now and 4 ever
Happy birthday to Lee Ann! I hope you and Lefty enoyed the JJ Gray-MoFro show last night!
I would rather focus on Duane's life and deeds and maybe celebrate his birthday. With much mental readjustment I now try to look at loved ones gone as appreciative of the gift of the time knowing them, appreciative of all else given by them to the world, and the mark they left on me and others. Loss is mine, not theirs. Tragedy is not theirs, it is ours. If we keep the focus on them and their gifts, those all become things to celebrate, additions not subtractions, and positives not negatives. When I feel the blackness of loss come, I replace it with saying "But I am blesssed to have known them, and they were special people, who gave me many gifts"..... and the sorrow always recedes then. I have used the sorrow of loss as a way to try to stay close to them. Keeping the grief in heart kept them close. But then the sorrow never leaves. Let the grief go and focus on the gifts. It really was not loss at all of Duane going. That implies his best was not yet done. I believe he left a huge enough mark between his session work and Fillmore that it is sufficient to be not the masterpice uncreated loss. His departure from this plane of existence was the point at which his many gifts started being celebrated and his mark known. Mission accomplished. RIP and thanks Skydog.
you said it Rainy..
Nic-y 🙂
just heard the sad news Twinkle's Uncle Sid passed...
Wish to offer prayers and condolences to Twinkle, she is such a special member of the extended ABB family, and also to Dickey and Donna.
so very sorry , you are all in my prayers..
Hello guestbook :waving:
I have read many a GB post here through the years, some touching, some sad, deeply sad at times, some funny, very funny at times, some insulting, critical, informative, musically knowledgeable and for the most part entertaining.. love reading whats happening in the ABB's community family with either the Band members or all the fans that join in here to chat..
Scott that was a great post RE: to Duane and Tyler, Thank you for sharing your inner thoughts with us . A very special post... sometimes it is hard to put into words what our hearts and emotions are feeling.. You did superbly.
🙂
:dog:  :inlove:
Awesome post, ScottC from CLT. No one could have said it better than you just did.
Hi Carol. I am looking forward to visiting with you all also!!! In 1999 our local community raised $3,000,000 and we built a new high school football stadium at no cost to the school district. Two years ago we raised $750,000 and had artificial turf installed. When these kids get a college education and such as Brandon go on to the NFL it all pays off. Two years ago we had 5 or 6 kids in Division one colleges on a full football scholarship. One is going to Columbia University in NYC. That is the reward when you can help a student get a good quality education who would not have been given the chance. That is the case with Brandon. He is such a fine young man and is very deserving of this opportunity!!! Run Brandon Run!!!!! Peach.
Bird, unfortunately, i know exactly what you mean, and thus I am grounded from driving our black bird 🙂
i wish you lived closer, you would love Jr, he is the race car engine building ace of the county
Scott, your words are most beautiful and so right on.
I feel extremely blessed to have received a few correspondences from Tyler.
He was so looking forward to the springtime, to planting the Scarlet Sage seeds we shared from the garden dedicated to the memory of Brother Duane..
Last year, Indian Summer.. a single hummingbird stopped here at the office garden (dedicated to BO) to nectar on the tall rosy spikes of the Sage..
Overcome thinking how Tyler was cheated out of enjoying that moment.
As I harvest Scarlet Sage seeds again this Fall, if anyone would like a few, pm me, I will see what I can do.
In the spirit of Brothers & Sisters
