I found this on the web concerning Memorial Day and I feel it bears repeating. Saying 'Happy Memorial Day' (especially to a vet) is probably a good way to get punched. 'Memorial Day is an American holiday. It is said that the observance of this day grew originally out of the custom of the widows, mothers, and children of the Confederate dead in the South strewing the soldiers' graves with flowers, including the unmarked graves of the Union soldiers - a poignant image for all Americans. There was no settled date for this in the North until 1868, when General John A. Logan, as commander-in-chief of the Grand Army of the Republic, designated May 30th. Later, Memorial Day was made a Monday holiday; as such, it is observed on the Monday closest to May 30th. It should be borne in mind that, while a holiday, Memorial Day is not "celebrated." We've heard people say, "Happy Memorial Day" but this is the unpleasant equivalent of saying, "Have a happy time remembering your war dead." There is nothing wrong with getting together with friends and family on this date, but at least some small portion of the day should be set aside to solemnly honor those who died in the Civil War, those who have given their lives for their country in other wars, and veterans in general.'

I was kinda goofed as to which site(s) to put the pics on. And I didn't think about putting them on the ABB site since it wasn't an ABB thing (although it was). I have sent discs to at least one band member from 3 of the 4 groups and they can put them up. Waitin ' for the GLRBR to return home and I will send of the guys a disc also.

What will you be doing 3 pm Monday? In case you forgotten, or were never informed of, "Congress put a "National Moment of Remembrance" resolution on the books in December 2000 in the hope that America would return to the true meaning of Memorial Day. The resolution asks that in an act of national unity, Americans at 3 p.m. local time "voluntarily and informally observe in their own way a Moment of remembrance and respect, pausing from whatever they are doing for a moment of silence or listening to 'Taps.' " Hopefully, you will take a moment to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifices for our nation and our freedoms. Thanks.

SAV; Amen to that.....and what's with that ''panel of judges'' - you got Randy ''Living Off My Wacko Brother Jacko's Bucks'' Jackson, that washed-up skank Paula Abdul, and the wannabe tough guy Simon Whoever with the English accent - somebody needs to b**ch slap that boy and teach him a few manners. I saw about 5 minutes of that show one night and it was waaaay more than enough for me -producerrs/creators laughing all the way to the bank though.

I thought of you, phillybob, when I learned that Kevin was going to be sitting in with Donna! When he got married his father-in-law got him a job bossing a construction crew building luxury hotels on Grand Cayman and now in Nassau. His wife and daughter still live in Atlanta and one of his visits home coincided with Donna and Geoff's show. He spent quite awhile bitching and moaning about the talent level of the musicians he has to play with in the Caribbean. Kevin loves Donna -- and when he heard Richie in the pocket behind him, he told me he was thinking, "Oh yeah!" Donna, like many other great musicians has a talent for bringing the best out in others. I've seen her play with many wonderful guitartists -- Barry Richman, Geoff Achison, Tinsley Ellis (who turned me onto Donna in the first place ... ) -- and each time I saw one of the finest performances ever from the musician sitting in.
