I'll admit I don't really care about them, either -- but, as long as they are giving them out and making a public deal about it, nice that some of the attention, and maybe even an award (or two, if it's TTB) will go to members of the ABB.

It's great news, but how is "Revelator" considered a "blues" album? :spinner: Ah, I'll confess: I haven't cared about Grammy Awards in decades...

Congratulations to : Gregg, Derek, Warren etc. on their GRAMMY nominations! The blues category is largely an ABB event: Gregory for Low Country Blues Tedeschi-Trucks (and that includes Oteil) for Revelator and Warren for Man in Motion How amazing is that!

Just FYI, it seems that when our Administrators (God bless them) delete a user, they do not necessarily get banned from sending PM's (usually annoying, harassing, nasty PM's). Bye, Otie...til the next time. Why do the trolls always come out around the holidays? Must be seasonal affective disorder, or maybe just plain loneliness and seeking attention. I can understand the feelings just not the actions. Maybe a little less alcohol might help in some cases.

Yeah he is Tim. The first time I saw him play was with Capt. Solarcat years ago at Smith's Old Bar. In my drunken mind I thought that he needed to know that "he sounded great and had a Derek Trucks thing going on", we shook hands and he appreciated the compliment. In retrospect I should have probably waited for setbreak, instead of leaning onto stage between songs to let him know. 😉 Lefty Williams is also a great player, he can get a nice Dickey Betts thing going on, so they really do alot of justice to the original ABB and that is their focus. Also Ron Roper is in the band, he played with Derek's band years and years ago. Talented group of folks. Anyways, come on down. I'll be down there with my wife Cheryl, whom you met in Macon, and Michael Williams, who you met on the banks of the Suwanee River earlier this year. Definitely come and say hello and hang out. Ryan

Thanks for the heads up Ryan. Benji Shanks is a world class guitar player. He is definitely influenced by Derek & Duane on slide. I've seen him in Capt Solarcat and Last Waltz Ensemble. I might hit up that show.

"Otie" PMed me "on behalf of a group of oldtimers" and asked that I not post so much. So, I won't. I don't remember seeing him anywhere for a long time except when there was some sort of brouhaha going on.

For any Atlanta area folks needing an Allman fix, Revival is an ABB cover band that is playing this Saturday at Vinyl @ Center Stage Theater. Show is at 9 with an opener. Saw them last year, they are outstanding. Lefty Williams and Benji Shanks on guitar. Tix are $12 in advance, I would recommend it. You can check them out here: http://www.wix.com/revivalallmanbrosexp/revival#! Or on Facebook under "Revival: An Allman Brothers Experience" Ryan
