Here's my Greg Potter story. A friend of mine who shall remain nameless, went into a local bank and the teller, knowing my friends connection to the ABB, says to him "Gregg Allman was in here yesterday, but his account is listed as Greg Potter!". So much for banking confidentiality. It's no coincidence Greg has that hair! Have a great day, Greg, and thanks for always putting up with me with a smile and a nod. Things are a lot different these days, you'll be happy to know. I always appreciated your concerned smiles and big hugs.

"Please come to Macon and be with people who love you, don't let the walls close in." Says a lot about what's in someone's heart, what their thought process is like. Reminds me of Ector. Happy Birthday Mr. Greg Potter. It's an honor to know you, sir. Hope you have a happy day today. The trips to Shroom River, with the ABB decor, were a lifetime memory. You're the real deal, thanks for the warm joy you bring to people.

Picked this out of an article about the R&R HOF inductions: Late TV producer Don Kirshner will get the Ahmet Ertegun non-performer award, while producers Cosimo Matassa, Tom Dowd and Glyn Johns will be honoured for musical excellence.

Marci, it must have been that same GABBA Fest 2002 that Greg P asked Kevin and I to meet him at Rose Hill before we left for home.. Greg P had 3 t-shirts for us, he knew it would be diificult for us to meet him at Rose Hill, but he was organizing a clean-up at the cemetary, and he insisted we meet him there. When we pulled up the long driveway, just outside the gate, Greg and GABBA friends took our hands as we were getting out of car, walked us to the tiny scarlet red Japanese Maple tree in a big bed of sunny yellow Day Lilies, plus memorial marker in loving memory of Heather. in less than 3 weeks, Gregg Potter, who was the President of GABBA at the time, had secured permission from the State of Georgia, The City of Macon, Rose Hill Cemetary, and the National Register of Historic places to have that tree planted and memorial placed at Rose Hill imo our baby. Please give Greg a :birthday: hug from the McFamily

Carol, There are soooo many more moments like that with Greg. He really is a wonderful man........and sincere. Lots of folks arent, but if there's a word that describes Greg it is definitely sincere. His wife Laraine, the exact same word......Love them both, and the "behind the scenes" stuff that they have done and still do for GABBA is unbelievable.........Greg's passion for the ABB and for life and people is boundless and contagious! Great Great story......... 🙂

:fanfare: :birthday: Greg Potter :fanfare: :birthday: for those who do not know Gregg Potter, here is Gregg Potter thru my eyes.. As many of you know, Kevin and I lost our oldest daughter 3 weeks shy of her 25 birthday. We had been to a GABBA Fest or two, were amazed at the kindness the good people of Macon had shown to us.. Mama Louise , Mama Hill, Juanita and Walter @ the H &H, who loved up Heather like she was their baby girl. these ladies and grandson are the warmest folks anyone could ever know. Floyd Miles, who surprised us from the stage, calling out "Is Heather in the house? " with that radiant smile and that big lush Bluesy voice he has that melts everyones heart who isblessed to hear him sing. Floyd dedicated the evening to our baby, and from that moment on, became her very best friend. Heather had a rough winter 2001-2002. it was clear by Christmas her little body was wearing out, her colour changed, her smiles were less radiant, her eyes began to fade..it was a terribly stressful time for the family , a family will do whatever it takes when a child is ill, team up together, forgoing all else, and shower that child with love and care with every ounce of energy they can muster. We had our Gabba Fest tix for Spring of 2002, giving us something to look forward to. Talked alot about seeing all our new friends while lsitening to ABB, nothing seemed to help. We lost Heddy that March. The family delved into grief-stricken shock that words can never explain. 3 nightmarish weeks went by, our eylids were chapped ,cracked and blood-crusted with tears, we barely spoke. Friends came by every day and shoveled food into our , literally took our jaws in thier hands and forced us to eat . Then the phone rang. it was Gregg Potter. Ill never forget his words, so simple- "Please come to Macon and be with people who love you, dont let the walls close in." It's a 7 , maybe 8 hour ride from our door to Macon. 7 hours before GABBA Fest, Kevin and I looked at eachother, we never even packed a bag, walked out to the driveway and jumped into our car ,headed North. the next thing I remember, Penny , Kenny and Greg Potter were sitting up on the stage, donating thier beautiful long hair for the new "I Almost Cut My Hair" Gabba Fest event. Gregg Potter held up his freshly cut LLLOOOONNNGGG ponytail, and whispered into the mic, "for Heather". I ll never forget that. xoxox Ca

Anyone else hear Chris Berman on Monday Night Football mention Jacksonville, FL and the Allman Brothers last night? He's brought up Dickey Betts name before on MNF. I knew there was a reason I liked this guy:cool:
