Lefty, should you or me recite Bird's 17 Golden Rules Of Civilized Behavior?
"Gosh, if only everyone behaved like me"
"Or at least behaved like Lefty"......
"And for the record, what's a few small dents in the hood from jumping on it?"
I'm looking for a ride down to the show tomorrow night.
The people I'm going with can't get out of work early and I don't want to miss Wharfstock and/or the Mule. I got a ride after the show, just looking to get down there early enough to enjoy the festivities.
I can meet in NYC, Staten Island, Bayonne, Jersey City, Hoboken. I can chip in for gas and beer.
Please if anyone can help, please get in touch. Thanks...Mark

Luke and Hemlock...I am sorry you are having problems..I really am..but I agree with Horace..maybe pm's or email ?
Luke and Hemlock: I don't know either of you guys, I'm not on anyone's side or anything---but y'all really ought to take it elsewhere. This ain't the place.
Gregg Allman & Friends at the Keswick Theatre on Dec. 30th. Just got an email from the Keswick folks.
Already got tickets for Derek & Susan in October. Taking my new bride to see Susan. We put together a cd for our wedding guests. Included Susan's "Sweeter Than Ever".
I wanted to thank Rusty and Donna for thier generosity and kindness..All the wonderful folks have already been named here ...I just love you all..thanks Jaimoe Jr. and Kirk..
Thanks to SPDB for letting me share so much of that stage...I told more than a few folks that the last 45 minutes of the Skydogs show on Saturday was the possibly the most fun I have had on the 2nd St. Music Hall stage...
ABB...well I have seen a few shows..not as many as a lot veterans..But last night was simply off the hook...many of you know of my band's fondness for playing Mountain Jam...and I have been blessed to see a few really good ones form the brothers..but last night just soared..I was on the fence about the IL..until Dreams..( thanks Derek, for kicking my tired rear off the fence)..
Susan was OUTSTANDING..man can that woman sing..and I was quite imressed with Vaylor..Barry Richman.wow....
and Kofi ? that was just badass man..
just a smokin set..I get two more this year and I am really eager to see what the band has in store for us in Chicago...Oteil, Derek and the ABB in one venue..all those guests...this is the best collective group of musicians I have ever known of...buckle up Wharfstock..:)
Billy, Oteil did play a solo after BuMaChriYonChri(again) in IMOER in Raleigh.
As I posted the other day, there is no way I could come close to keeping track of the percussionists and which songs they played on at Raleigh... :boomerang:
Terri,
Thanks so much! 🙂
I'll add it in the next revision. Do you know where it fit into place?
Billy
Hey, SweetRiver!
No JaBuMa in Camden, but a short Otiel solo.
ABB, Brothers, Sisters and the FaMuley,
Version 12: A few format improvements and these shows added: Camden, Raleigh, and Atlanta
The rolling stats are getting to be pretty cool!
Any help with information checks is always greatly appreciated. 🙂
Question:
1) Was there a JaBuMa or an Oteil solo at Camden on 8/18?
2) Did Oteil play a solo on 8/19 at Raleigh?
Enjoy!
Sweet

Great review, Goliath. Of all the times for me to miss a show....and again thanks for sharing the snippet of Barry's moment via the modern keep in touch device. That was cool.
Sounds like a lot of folks saw another great Atlanta show!!

Looks like the Bros bounced back well from what seemed like an off night to some. It seems like all ABB players past and present are having a good summer. Can't wait to hear the new Mule CD.
I gotta back up Jim on the loss of his friend. I was a casual acquaintance of the guy but I felt he would of given me the shirt off his back if I needed it. He also backed me up on one or two occasions just by flashing that look to whoever it was, that he had my back. We mention him here because he loved the ABB and I recall having many a good laugh and many a cold beer with him at any ABB /Mule /DTB/ Dickey /Blue Floyd/ Tuna /Dead related show that was in town.
RIP.
Great reviews from Atlanta, Thanks guys! Barry Richman is a hell of a player, must of been a rippin' "Southbound"...
Really looking forward to PNC tomorrow with a whole bunch of the gang!
Reading my post I don't think I mentioned enough just how awesome Helen was to me yesterday. She is the sweetest gal in these here parts & cooler than that which precededs her.
Helen, Thank you thank you thank you. If you're ever in my neck of the woods you will always have a home away from home.
Cathee, thanks for the brats! Tasted like I kept eating them all night! Delicious!
I also wanted to give a shout out to Buzzy82 who I met with TanDan & Mr & Mrs Bluedad. It looked like you were having as much fun as the rest of us!
Some of the Peaches I got to see last night- banesh, jamgram, Libby, Cathee, mother therese, Tandan, Bluedad, SantaCruzBluz, fast43, freebird1975, Goliath, Miss Elf, Byrd, Big Dave, smokinop, Cortezthekiller, MissTerry, musichick3, RobJohnson, Joe Bell, Gregg & Barb, AbbBro, Krishna, haisija, Hophead. I know I am forgetting some but as everyone else has said there were so many last night!
Peace~! Brian
The Allmans hit Atlanta yesterday and it seems anyone who has any connection with the band gets in on the party. Always a tense situation for me, lots of requests and scrambling to get in touch with touring rock musicians to ask for favors...trying to coordinate movements, synchronize watches, meet up with dozens of people, etc...and then try to enjoy the show. LOL...well the carnival has come and gone, made it through another year....and it was one of the best nights of the year for me, as it is every year. We got to the lot early and didn't have to wait long for friends to start arriving...my brother, Byrd, said it was hotter than 12 yards of hell. It was...then we got a little shower and it cooled everything off real nice for the remainder of the evening. Brother Rashaan had everything under control, he faced the onslaught and it got hairy...but he persevered. Kirk faces a guest list of 200 to 300 people for Atlanta, a logistical nightmare. He handled it and by the time the Brothers hit the stage, he was back in good spirits, the rock had not rolled back over him and down the hill.
We get in the venue and are hanging out in the concession area and I see people I know everywhere. Can't swing a cat without hitting someone I am very happy to see. I love it!! ABB in ATL....As we visit with our fellow freaks, Oteil and Band are throwing it down, a might fine set....we try to make our way to our seats for Derek and it takes a long time, as we stop and greet one friend after the other...get seated and again, we see people we haven't seen in a while who come over and chat and hug and smile...Derek's set was out of sight, I was in the Derek zone for the first time in a couple of years, first time I had seen Derek at a shed where he got the full PA and the DTB delivered a very intense set. When the set is over I head back to find Jaimoe and run into Barry Richman, one of my dearest friends, so we go back together and we know he is going to get on stage with the ABB this night. Not sure who was more nervous, Barry or me, LOL...I ask Barry if he brought his guitar and he says yes...and I say, which one? It was the 58 Les Paul, so I go fetch it from his car...and I carry a 1958 Les Paul onto the Allman's stage... 😎
Atlanta always gets a great show, the band gets off playing in front of the home crowd and as most of their friends are also in attendance, they bear down even harder. On the Instant Live you can hear Gregg say it sure is nice to see y'all again, and someone, Warren?, not sure, says, 'for real'...they just love being in Atlanta and always burn it down...
There is no one who was influenced more by Dickey and Duane than Barry Richman. He took what those two laid down and incorporated the emotion of their playing, not the notes, into his style, which is basically a fusion of jazz, jazz fusion, blues, rock, and country, and it has been his life long dream to play with the Allman's. He has played with each member individually, but never as a group. To see my friend and guitar hero up there on stage with the ABB was such a high for me, I will not come down for a long time, and Barry was humbled and grateful and joyous to be able to realize his dream after 30 something years in the business. He will be high off this for a long time....He only played one lead, on the encore, played a fine solo, too, and that is what I will always remember from the 06 Atlanta show....
It was great seeing the GB and forum gang gathering again, great seeing a dream concert with three of my favorite bands, and one little sit in by my pal, and great seeing the ABB inner family once again in one spot...hanging with Chank, skoots, and so many other dear friends...what a party!!!!! WooHoo!!! As always, thanks to Jaimoe and Kirk and the ABB for the hospitality!!!
EAPFP
Hey Brian! Good to see you at the Potter's and at the show! Looks like you got your wish-set (Brian told me before the show that he was due for a "Dreams" and a "Mountain Jam"). This was a goodun'! No doubt about it. I'll post more somewhere when I get my thoughts together! 😉
:birthday: Jeanne!!! Sorry I'm late but I was on vacation and missed it!! Hope it was great!! Love ya!!
Bob,
I am excited to see Ryan Howard play. The Phils are playing some good ball now. Ex Cub Jamie Moyer is going to be tough on them...they can't hit soft tossing lefties for sh*t. lol
Ryan
Wow! I could only sleep for a few hours last night because I couldn't stop thinking about last night's show.
Thanks again to Helen for the ticket. That definitely got the ball rolling! I won first row seats at the Hittin the Note tent, gave the other to Helen as a big thank you, who of course let smokinop, Joe & a few others look up Warren & Derek's nose along with me instead.
Man it was great to see all of the GABBA crew. And thanks again to the Potters for their great hospitality & keeping the river nice & cool for a quick swim (I hope those pictures don't show up in the Media Gallery!)
One more point to relate- I am standing at National Car Rental's booth at the airport yesterday morning about 8:15. The gal is going over my liability & Derek walks by in the airport. I hurry her, initial the paperwork, & catch up with him. There are a bunch of model planes from WWII over by the MARTA station & he's standing there checking them out. I say, "DereK! Brian! I jsut flew in from Pennsylvania to see you guys tonight." He says, "Ooooh! Hey Man! I'm just waitin' for my family to get in from out of town & I 'm pickin' them up." I lost my words & just kept saying, "Good. Good." And I'm thinking I bet this means Susan will make an appearance tonight (which she did twice- once during DTB's show, which was incredible, & once during Feel So Bad.
I had tears in my eyes during Dreams. Incredible! Mountain Jam was a masterpiece performance. Susan was hot & Vaylor nailed the third harmony line lick for lick on Hot Lanta. I think it was Derek night for sure. Although Warren looked especially pleased with the on stage vibe.
