Ha Ha Ha Ha some of life has its lil jokes
:clapping: Brother Gregory!
Woody ,have fun..take time to smell the...well never mind..but being a city girl, there is nothing I like better than the smell of a farm...The grass is always greener , Ya, know?
I found the Beacon experience hysterical seeing all the fine Country folk walking around with big !@#-eating grins on their faces, breathing in deep the sights and sounds of my little hometown... Same thing.
Please post some of the pix to the art section! I would love to see them.
about the FLA Panther, the fact is:
The cat we know as the Florida Panther once roamed across the entire Southeastern U.S. There are now only 80-100 surviving in the wild (up from less than 30, due to new breeding programs with Texas Cougars. )
The environmentalists were forced to bring in Texas cats, despite what some felt would dilute the original FLA Panther gene pool. The FLA Panther was so close to extinction, it was believed without these drastic actions, the disease that was appearing , due to so small a gene pool /interbreeding, would be the final blow to this royal creature.)
Also a fact, the FLA Panther is not a Texas Cougar, but a cousin to the Texas Cougar, the California Mountain Lion, and the Central American Puma. In fact, they are all Cougars. to clear up any misconceptions out there. Also sometime commonly called Catamount.
Naturally, at one time, when they were abundant in all Southeastern states, all the Cougars intermingled.
The scientific designation is subspecies, and our FLA cats are considered extremely endangered.
Texas cats are abundant and not protected.
This large cat once roamed from the Yukon to the tip of South America..yup, thats right..even NYC.
anyone interested in learning more, and/or helping support saving the FLA Panther from extinction, should go to websites such as Friends of the Florida Panther and links such as Florida Panther Net...
There are incredible pix and new trails now open to the public.
Also notable is the incredible array of wild Orchids found in the Panther Refuge, some extremely endangered (due to the draining of the Everglades) I believe one of the largest concentrations of wild Orchids in the world, in FLA's little ole Fakahatchee Strand, which is part of the Panther Reserve.
They will tell you all remaining 80-100 FLA Panthers are here in SW FLA.
nearly all of the cats from the breeding program (some are kept in a large reserve/natural zoo-type cages, just outside of Jax Beach ,near the GA border) have been killed by cars, etc, shortly after release in Central and North FLA. Only the Glades seem to afford the proctection and space the cats need.
We still see Panthers here in Charlotte county as well as Venice, but for the record, they are only recognized to exist, south of the great Caloosahatchee River in Lee County.
A FLA Panther, has never killed a human, though they hve been known to stalk a few poor, terrorized souls.
science lesson over..collect your diplomas and 🙂
Sav, Kevin recently introduced me to the gal who runs (general manager) one of the largest Car Dealerships in town.
As it were, about a year or 2 ago, I witnessed her husband, our fellow :bike: get run down by a Senior in a huge Lincoln Town Car, who failed to see or hear his beautiful big hog. He died while being airlifted, enroute to the hospital. A nightmare come to life.
anyway, she is doing incredibly well, burying herself in her work and charitable works , while enjoying the friendship and support of all of us :bike: here in Charlotte.Ya'll take care of that Gal and send her my sympathies and prayers for strength.... Peachies Ca
Good Ole, Ahhh you all know the song. Off to the infamous LA county fair. My older daughter has a photography assignment and that will certainly be a target rich envronment. It is a great place to go if you have a hankering for deep fried Twinkies or feeling like "Gee I'm not in that bad shape after all" or you just like the smell of a lot of animal s$%t and fat sweaty people packed into a hot confined area. Later to you lucky individuals that will spend the day in less toxic environments,
Carol & BIRD,thank you for You're thoughts & Prayers....Tonight at the Club had a Cold,Dark & Somber feel to it...Looks like His Widow will come back for now & run the Place...Just don't know...He sure didn't have to do what He did,it changed Us all it seems....Amazing Grace,How Sweet The Sound.....
Proud to live in Bama, no where else

beautiful women, Does your girlfreind count? If so I agree :boomerang:
great music, ...ONLY WHEN YOU ARE NOT PLAYING THAT RAG GUITAR...
Who could ask for more you ask.... The locals are probably wishing you would move to another state..hopefully not South Carolina. You are not welcome here... I am the Governer.... Got 48 other choices. Will help with a geography lesson if you need it. Hope you land in Bumf......never mind.
Coming to JFD despite knowing you will be there. Gonna spread some "broken guitar string mojo" on yo butt the entire weekend, and you know my mojo works :bash:
Creep.....

mighty generous of you for notre dame. i'll have to keep that in mind before i agree with your next picks. 😉
Just finished watching the Ga. Music Hall of fame awards live on Ga. public broadcasting. Gregg was named artist of the year, and went on last. He did Melissa w/ guitar, then went to the piano and I think did oncoming traffic. The governor then presented him with his award. Gregg then did Ga. on my mind at the piano. REM then joined him on stage backing him on midnight rider. Mama A was there along with other family members. He mentioned Chank when he received his award, which I thought was cool. Very different seeing Gregg dressed up for a black tie type affair.
Much love out to brother Bobo tonight..
Thinking of Bobo and his girls. I love you. You are in my thoughts and prayers 24/7.
This is perhaps a dumb question, but if they're the Auburn Tigers, what does "war eagle" have to do with them? Thanks for the explanation. 🙂
YYYYEEEESSSSSS!!!!!
WWWWWWOOOOHHHOOOO!!
WAR DAMN EAGLE!!
Auburn 7
LSU 3
In a great defensive ballgame. And before IT starts about the so-called pass interference, it was NOT Brent. The ball was tipped and never touched the LSU players hand, therefore, he was not in the play. A GREAT defensive play. LSU was great, Auburn better.
Brent, the LAST TIME I CHECKED, no one gets a bowl invite for their PAST accomplishments brother.
The past is for whisky sippin' and enjoyment agreed. But with sports, in general, its what have you done for me today....the problem is with you Alabama fans, you keep bringing up the past as if that will win you a ball game. It wont.
I guess I dont like football like I like music, in the sense that I generally cannot find interest in watching an "old" game. Funny, how we like old songs and to hear music over and over again, but most of us would never or hardly ever put in a CD of the Bama 72 win over Auburn and listen to that going down the road. Wonder why that is??? I guess sports excites the visual aspects of our minds, music goes somewhere else within our beings.
It appears that things are getting disgustingly ugly over in AG. Can't something be done about this? I just pm'd Lana but I know that she doesn't have the time to stay tied to this site 24/7.
What we know as the Florida Panther actually orgininated in West Texas and migrated east. Different areas have different names for what amounts to virtually the the same animals. Florida Panthers, Panthers, Cougars, Mountain Lions, Puma, and Catamount. Very slight differences exist between them and their habitat runs from West Texas through South Florida.

:wave:Hello everybody! Hi Carol! 😀

Brent..and all that beautiful Red Clay! thats my favorite ..those beautiful rolling clay hills..
I have the best memory of ridng through Bama after midnight, Kevin , Heather and I ....Clay hills were gleaming in the moonlight, a pack of Wolves lined up along the edge of the forest...
Blew my mind, the only wolves Ive ever seen before were inprisoned by men. ..
Free as they should be..majestic and poweful, they purely glistened under the rising Alabama Moon.
Sadly, also saw a Panther carcass...didnt realize Bama had either Wolves or Panthers (aka Mountain Lions, Cougars ..)
We were going to see the Allman Brothers Band. We were happy as clams!
The next thing I remember, we arrived in Slidell LA...might as well have been Heaven.
I cant remember if it was May 5, 6 or 7th , but no doubt on our way to Tommy Lee Park, for the GREAT 2000 Beale Street Music Festival. Memphis in the morning..yehaw!
Il never forget how Dickey and Gregory were smiling at eachother that day..They nodded to Heather ,Kevin and I..somehow they spotted us in that crowd, and jammed on one of the finest YDLM , at least if seemed fine to me, ever.
Than back to Slidell, and Brother Mc- Gerald smiling big bear of a man!
I know I  goodbye, but I came back to check on Tyler  T!
Thanks for sparking that memory you beautiful Bama Men! Slidell LA..I hear they play some mean Baseball there, too. eapfp, Ca
Another year ey Jim...enjoy the day and memories.
RROOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
TIDE ROLLL!!!!!!!!!
Now, the Gators will beat that no account Tenn and the %#@& Fulmer.
LSU will beat Auburn and spank their
bird butts like Grandma plucking a chicken for dinner.
*** Rick, without the PAST, you have NO present. You figure it out.
Slidell is a growing community just across the Ponchatrain from Sin City, or New Orleans as some may say.
Located in S. La. just off I-10.
Proud to live in Bama, no where else
like this place...hunt, fish, beautiful women, great music. Who could ask for more.
