I would suggest the following, for those so interested in politics. Let's benchmark the world today. Drive the stakes in the ground as it were relative to "where we are". Benchmark interest rates as of today. Benchmark gas prices as of today. Benchmark taxes you pay as of today. Benchmark your health insurance premium as of today. Benchmark zero terrorist attacks since 9/11 as of today. Benchmark the number of American troops dead since the Iraq invasion started. Benchmark you have Social Security as of today. Benchmark any other important issue within your life. The point is obvious: compare the life you live today with what will be 2,4,6, years from now. Those around to see the future should then compare. The liberals have their turn at the deal, so lets just see what is done with it. I am all for a better quality of life, so lets see what this new day will mean down the road. Fair enough?

60 Minutes Correspondent Ed Bradley dies Sad news about one of my alltime favorite reporters: http://msnbc.msn.com/id/15638692/ Ed was also a huge music fan, particularly Little Feat and Jazz. I recall him covering the initial Feat comeback in 1988. They actually had him on stage to do some percussion (and possibly background voc) at atleast one early gig. He will be missed. Tim

Some sad reality checks this morning.... Politics is important, but there are more important things. If you get mad at somebody about politics, please turn loose of it quickly. This GB is about more important business. We're all going to be dealing with real stuff in our worlds as time passes.... Prayers and hugs for the Anderson family and the Collins family.

Politics is a very touchy and sensitive subject, so I try to shy away from sticking my nose in the tent sort of speak. War is bad, it is ugly and well sometimes it is un avoidable. As much as I belive we were led into the war with a bunch of B.S by our President I do believe that there is a war on terror. Whether that is covert operations or actual ground is something for the politicians and our commander and chief to decide. It is very sad that lives of our soldiers have been lost as well as many innocent lives, but, and I mean but, the region we are fighting in and the people we are fighting against have and will do anything they can to cause harm and danger to us. Therefore it is my stance that I would rather be on teh offensive then be defensive. Now we can argue it should not be Iraq, but if it is not Iraq would it be Korea, Iran? In any case we need to be at war with these mindless individuals. It would do the world no good if we jsut packed up and left. Lets get the job done, lets win this war and lets make th eregion a safe place so we as a nation can go to sleep at night at not have to be concerned what nuts are going to drop a bomb or fly a plane into another one of our buildings. Lets support the troops, lets kick some ass.
