stay safe my rocky mountain brothers..going to be a green Christmas here in Chicago..
I started to go out to pick up a Rx and shop, but when they closed the Malls early today, only a couple of days before Christmas, I decided nothing was important enough to go out driving!
hey Smiling Jack......Yes it is very Nasty here today:cold:...Just loving it...out playing with the :dog: he is having a blast to.....major gusts.....they cancelled the winter storm watch a bit ago......and upgraded it too Blizzard conditions.......:burnout:
:wave:Once again, welcome Jovial James!!
I also dig the sounds of a classic Hammond Organ. The first concert I ever attended was Deep Purple in'85. Jon Lord was like a magician on his Hammond.Totaly blew my mind.I wish more bands used one........... I would like to take a moment to tell everyone that although I am very new to this place and don't know anyone here yet and not very good with computers, I'm so glad to have found this place. I've been reading all the kind words and messages you all send back & forth to eachother and I think I'm going to make alot of new friends here and also learn alot of new things about one of my favorite bands the ABB that I might not have otherwise had the pleasure of knowing. I also hope to once again be at the Beacon in March for the ABB. maybe if I'm realy lucky , I'll get to meet some of you there in person. I always enjoy meeting new, cool people and going out to see new places for brand new experiences as much as I can afford to...... Peace Be With You All. Please Be Safe and have a wonderful Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanza ,etc. and an amazing New Year. ( in the YOU FORUM, I wrote a few things about myself in order to properly introduce myself and give everyone a little insight about who James Vincent Mendola (aka, Jovial James) is for anyone who cares to read it. I also put a little message in MEMORIALS for a dear friend of mine who passed away not long ago.)
 Hi JHawke! Haven't stole it....YET!!:winky: But be sure I'll be giving you a call when I do. hehehe I'm gonna need lots of advice on this beauty!
Hey GW, I thought you already stole the C-3. Get up the courage and just do it. Then send it to me.
I am sending out prayers to the family of Tyler and Peachnutt. I hope Tyler's surgery goes well.
My heart is heavey but my knees are strong, sincere prayers and love to Gary and family...
Gary, i have to tell you this...I know others that know you can relate...
The last time Kevin and I were in NY, we were lost in a cloud of grief. We were out on the street, must have been the wee early morning hours, long before dawn, and Im sure we were very vulnerable. Still are. I remember walking aimlessly, and the truth is, we probably didnt know if we were coming or going...
Dickey had did what he could, God bless him..but our pain was more intense than a song could heal.
Out of the fog came an outstretched hand...a gentle face.....You were leaning down, so as not to be intimidating...looked straight into our misted eyes.."Hi, Im Gary..you must be Kevin and Carol McDonald"...
Im not sure how you recognized us, if our Leah Marie or beautiful Jeannie ..maybe Jody-girl had pointed us out..but there you were...insisting you walk us to our van...
You never thought of yourself, but loaded our arms with all kinds of tunes for the road....our hearts with your friendship....
In a few ,brief moments, you made life-long friends...
May the Guardian Angel that sent you to us on that hopeless night, be at your boys side now. We love and respect you and yours, with all our heart....
Bird,you too..always in our prayers...Keep the faith...
Thanks to the Ogle family, Ju-Dan , Timo and Maria and Lib for the lovely Christmas cards...
Special thanks to Lana and Rowland for this loving family they have brought together ....Ca
Snowing here too, CowboyNeil. We have about 6" in blizzard conditions and the storm is supposed to last another 24-36 hours! should be at least 20" when it is over. I teased lenore this morning that we had mild winters until she moved here. I wonder how Tommy is in Co. Springs?
Debbie, not trying to be a wise ass, but this has been discussed in depth in the Anything Goes forum for a week or two now. Check on the most recent MOOGIS threads.
Here's a link with the discussions and explanations from Butch Trucks how it all will work...

We had a major fire in our downtown district last evening, wiped out several businesses, caused power to be cut to our regular watering hole. So, a bunch of us oldsters migrated to a newer place that caters to much younger folk. I was there over 3 hours, they had the ABB on the box when I got there, still playing when I left. All of Fillmore, and Hittin' the Note was still on when I left. Amazing to watch all these late-20's to early-30's types so deeply into quality music. Several went to the Christmas Jam, many are going to Atlanta for Panic. Very encouraging. For the first time in my 58 years, for the last 2-3, Gadsden has been a good place to live. Never, ever thought I'd say that.
JNB, it's good to know it's "in the mail."
Bill, say hello to Jimmy for us.

Local radio station says the ABB are going to stream ALL THE BEACON SHOWS IN 2007. IS THIS TRUE, LANA ?????????? If it is, how TOTALLY AWESOME FOR A LOT OF PEOPLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey woodyca! I work in what used to be a church. Our company inhabits the offices in the back part of the church. We don't use the sanctuary. Anyway, in the sanctuary sits a beautiful Hammond C3....all alone.:inlove2: I'm trying to find out, since the church is no longer active, just who the organ belongs to. If no one claims....IT'S MINE!!!:bounce: It needs some work, a few keys stick, and a good cleaning, but it's worth it!
Hey there Holiday loving GB folks. I was talking to a person @ work today and he sings and plays music for a bunch of local churches in the Santa Clarita. Although we are philosophically worlds apart we have a mutual love of music. He plays Christian music which ain't my cup of Burbon, but I kiddingly said to him that one of the only things I liked about church as a kid was the Hammond organ the church used. He replied by saying "I've got one for sale, it's an old one but in great condition"
I'm not an expert in Hammond, but I think, like guitars, the vintage of the instument is important. So if anyone is interested here is the link.

Going to kick off the Holidays with a little Jimmy Hall tonight.
As Goliath would say
Red Hot Chicken
We just got in a boatload of Atlanta and Mansfield 2006 Instant Live CDs. I wish we could have gotten them sooner so that we could deliver them to you in time for Christmas - but how about in time for NYE?!
Gary - our thoughts and prayers are with you and Tyler and the whole family. The power of love will bring him through. Hang in there, bro.
