Hey Woody, I just don't think the Amer. people have the fortitude to go the distance or fight a war, this or any other. We have become too complacent, comfortable, and have this "live and let live" philosophy that has permeated our society. I don't think the majority of Amer. see this as a real threat to our way of life and our country. Ex; We allow congress to swear in an elected Muslim on the Koran. The very document that is sworn to kill Americans! Unbelievable. The politically correctness in our nation is sickening. Bush is not to make my top 10 either. Worst Pres. has to be Carter for me.

SPBD - We've got plenty of guts, just not a good enough reason. Supporting Halburton and the Bushes isn't a good enough reason to sacrifice our children, therefore there is no popular support for this war. I don't believe for a second that if there was a clear threat to our future that the American people would not respond. I'm also not saying (in fact I'm VERY concerned) that the rise of fundamenalist Islam isn't a threat to our way of life, it is. BUT to attack Iraq on false premises and ignore Iran and Saudia Arabia (who are the real funders of terrorism) is ludicrous and stupid. I will stand by my long held belief that Bush is the worst president of the 20th and 21st century (so far). PS - I thought I hated Nixon, he is a saint compared to George Jr.

Prayers and hopes for all of the soldiers fighting. Might be a little easier to swallow if the politicians tell us the real reason we are fighting, and not hide behind a "humanitarian cause". War is STUPID !!!

No one likes war. Unfortunately, we are trying to be politically correct, keep everyone happy, and not get down to the dirty business of war. If we would fight this war as we did in WWI and WWII, it would have been over long ago. America no longer has the guts to fight a war and it will be our downfall. Our brave troops who are sacrificing for us deserve better. God bless the servicemen and women who are laying it on the line.

Beautiful article on Jerry Wexler in today's Wall Street Journal.... Mr. Wexler is one of the indespensable links in the chain that birthed the little world we share.

Here's some video that may be of interest. Barry Richman sitting in w/Damon Fowler Group at Darwin's in Marietta, Ga. Damon's a fine young Tampa player. And a lot of y'all may have seen Barry around Atlanta, or on stage with the ABB last August. Anyway, some mighty fine blues pickin' here: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=2472029534321247164&q=damon+fowler+barry+richman Horace EAPFP

Congrats to the extending Pelland family! Well, we're back on the hotseat again with the anouncement of 22,000 additional troops being sent to Bagdad. My Son-In-Law, Travis, Heather's husband, who's a sergent and already did 14 months there going door to door routing insurgents. Regretfully, he's in the perfect position to be sent back. No substitute for experience, huh? Over the weekend they were talking about sending him to California or Alaska. He's currently stationed on the east coast. But that was then and this is now. Naturally, we're a bit on edge about that one.... .
