I agree Anna Nicole was a very troubled soul, but, there may be a lesson there also: be very careful what you pray for, you might just get it.
In the end, money and fame killed her. Its sad to see that deal with anyone. If there is any money in the deal, the vultures will now begin the perch and feast.....
We're there 29-31st. Looking forward to seeing & jamming with you! That DTB/ARU show looks like a one off, that should be great. We're thinking of jazzfest and that show is right after that. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.
I hope DTB plays a show or two at jazzfest. ARU also.
Look and see that you have the latest flash player, you may need to upgrade.
I'll poke around for Adobe Flash. Thanks for the idea. I hope to see you two in late March...
Edit: I just went to the Adobe Flash site which told me I have that installed already... Sigh. I'll try at work tomorrow--HTW is "blocked" there, but perhaps RS is not! 🙂
We're doing great EZM, looking forward to our annual Beacon trip. You probably need Quicktime, or a similar program on your computer, to get that video to work.
Just checked the link, it's an Adobe Flash video, so you would need to download that.
Seth, I don't get a TV screen or a play-type button. That's what's frustrating me. But I said I'd stop whining about it...
The dTb/ARU show is at the Innsbrook Pavilion in Richmond's West End. They have concerts every Wednesday night from spring through early fall. It's mostly "retread bands" like .38 Special for the see-and-be-seen crowd. I don't see this twin bill "fitting in" there, but I'll sure take it! 😀
How are Denise and you?
Nice clip.
Michael, where's that DTB/ARU show?
You have to hit the play button below the tv screen.
That "live and loud" link brings me to the same page--where I can't find how to start the video. I've been to that page easily twenty times--I guess I just suck at the Internet!
Eileen and Mark, I really do appreciate you trying to help me. Thank you. I'll stop whining about it now.
Maybe it'll end up on youtube soon--where I can see it. :spinner:
Try this:
http://www.rollingstone.com/news/coverstory/the_new_guitar_gods_john_mayer_john_frusciante_derek_trucks
Then click on the link that says "playing live and loud" or just go to www.rollingstone.com and in the search engine type in "guitar god video"
I had to scroll down the RS home page and it was there on the left hand side.
The same darn results--or lack of. Specifically where on the page is your link to play the video? Thanks very much for trying to help me...
Go back a few pages here in the GB. I think it was Linnie that posted the link for the interview. Unless they removed the interview from the RS site, but try Linnie's link. You might have to go back 3 or 4 pages.

Try this, Good Luck, Mark
Thanks for the link to that page, Mark. That's the page I've been to over and over. Where's the link to play the video?

The link to the Video, enjoy, Mark
I know there's a video of Derek, Frusciante (whom I love on "Stadium Arcadium" ), and Mayer playing together somewhere on RS's site. I can't find any way to get the video prompt on the only link I've seen. There's no youtube-style play button that shows up for me.
Can anyone direct me to it? Thanks very much.
We get a double bill of the dTb and ARU with Oteil, Jimmy, Sipe, and the Colonel on May 9! Yes! :yep:
Second that....pretty jazz-oriented, somewhat like dTb. First-class musicians.
If Jimmy Herring's on board, you're in for a treat. He and Mark Kimbrell just burned the house down here in Birmingham a while back. If Jimmy's not on board ... you're still in for a treat! Kimbrell is about as good as anybody in the solar system!
Anyone? Thinking about driving to Fayetville, Arkansas for Oteil and the Peacemakers on Feb 10th. It just so happens that the 10th is my birthday. Does anyone happen to know who will be playing guitar that night? I've heard Herring might be on board for this leg of the tour and I'm looking for confirmation. Any insight would be appreciated!

as soon as you think you've got this place figured out - it will change........sometimes quickly too.
just like a song...........into something else and a new direction feel and tempo.
there is a lot here between old and new friends and sometimes the digressions go to "whatever".........and a bit of drama for spice.
so it goes.........and we let it go.
Oh but know one thing about this place = this place knows it's music deeply...........very very deeply.
lockers and even foot lockers of deep musical understanding and music appreciation round here - yes indeedy.
we got:
players, roadies, old and new listeners, fans, fanatics, ABB band members, band members of other bands, The Tour Mystic, etc etc etc.
and we got.
