I'm sure most of you know that I'm being somewhat "facetious" about actually posting "political" over in the GB. Reddog's comments aside, I just don't think it's the place to do so. It's should be the "one place" where everyone that comes to Hittin the Web feels welcomed and gets a "friendly" vibe, and I hate to see that changed. But I did post that "one" political post just to make a point to Reddog, that the GB is NOT the place to make political points, but I guess because Reddog "legendary" status that he can "sh*t" where ever he wants. Wonder what the place would look like if we all thought the same way?

Oh no Reddog, This is what you want and this is what you get. You want "political views' this is a good one from the Disabled American Veterans about how the all the Republican Senators except one, voted to not to close a loophole in the corporate tax code and give the money instead to American veterans. Of course, your good buddy Brent expressed how I was misguided in posting this information. Of course, be curious to hear your views (or any of the other GB'er) on this issue. .......................................................... Never knew about this amendment (Akaka Amendment No. 3007) but it's underscores what really is the priority of the Republican Party (and is sure wasn't our U.S. Military Veterans). Akaka Amdt. No. 3007; To increase Veterans medical services funding by $1.5 billion in FY 2007 to be paid for by closing corporate tax loopholes Here's a link to how the Senate voted. http://capwiz.com/dav/issues/votes/?votenum=41&chamber= S&congress=1092 (btw, be sure to click on (see complete tally) to see who voted yea, and voted nay. Here's a link to Senator Akaka remarks on 14 March 2006 before the vote. http://akaka.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=Speeche s.Home&month=3&year=2006&release_id=68 Just another example of how Republicans care more about the Rich than OUR VETERANS. Only one Republican voted to stop Cooperate Tax Loopholes and give the money to care for Veterans. Of course, we all know how much the Republicans still want to make these same tax cuts and corporate loopholes for the rich permanent. ......................................................... One more thing Reddog, next time you decide to encourage "political discussion" over here on GB, take responsibility for it as your last remarks to me seem to be somewhat "two-faced" in nature.

Let it go Doc. It ant worth it. We been fighting this topic of politics for years. I am curious why you want to bang on my drum. I have not been the only one on here to post back at you people, who think you decide, where we should post and the topics we should post. Its post like yours that drive people away. Open your eyes. It ant worth it. You cannot win. I do not think my views are driving people away. If anything I bring people here to see what I am saying. I am and always will be an Allman Brothers. How about you. That's cold, but I tire of your high school games. I tried to word things nice with you, but you had to show your colors and make an as* of yourself.

Hi all, I caught Derek with Clapton at the Pepsi Center in Denver on Wednesday. Way cool too say the least! My only complaint was that Clapton's set only lasted 1:45. Robert Cray was great too! Derek received many loud cheers following his solos. Clapton's band is very, very good - I particulary loved Willie Weeks funky solo during "Got to Get Better in a Little While". If you get the chance go check this one out for sure! On a side note, if any of y'all love The Beatles, The Band and The Beach Boys check out Dr. Dog's new disc, "We All Belong". They do a nice job of channeling the vocal harmonies and spirit of 60's pop with crisp, yet roughly hewn production.....jer

"Sibwalker, Reddog has been there, done it, and lived to tell us about it. You have not. Have you had your 21st b'day yet? Respect is in order. I for one, do not care to hear your political rant." Brent, I suggest that if you have issues about "political rants" you take it up with Mr. Campbell (i.e. Reddog) as he seem to think their is a need to discuss the issues of the day over here on the Guest Book. btw, I'm 54 years old and an ex-U.S. Navy Corpsman.

Rick I think Burbridge and his whole band of kickers are hot. Linnie, thanks for the tip. It actually says what I am talking about. Agrees with my reasoning for posting on the guest book. Going by this tip you gave me.( Click on "forum" to the left, then click "Todays messages" up top, you can see all the topics that are current, and reply to them that way). That tip tells me I have to look for a post by clicking to much and most people never see it. To me this is like a news paper. Story on front page, then when its time to easy off, they go to the back pages. this is posting on the back page. I say if you are not into reading my post, please do me a favor, Pass over them. Its not hard to do. See my name and skip to my Lou. Its a lot easier than coming on hear and causing bad feelings, with all that high school stuff. I sure do believe its nobodies business where I post except, the person that can stop me from posting. When they tell me not to post my views on life and its web of time, then I will go along with the program. Post where they tell me, or not post at all. Its not hard. sibwalker, I am glad you agree with me. You expressed it a lot better than I did. Remember. We fight for freedom and this is a free guest book. Looking forward to your views on life. Stand up and be counted. Get off that back page and join the campaign. Heads and heads should roll over the treatment of the Vets. Present and past.

This was posted by Kimberly on Dickey's G.B. - good news indeed - Since the mgt has changed at The Beacon, y'all have nothing to worry about the rumors of no dancing in the aisles or strict security, believe me it was wilder than the ABB shows, people dancing all over the place, people smoking (both) even though there is the no smoking law in NYC.

I'm Loving the Allman Brothers Band. Close to 40 years playing their sweet music for us.(How many shows, I wonder?) :guitarist:14 Nights at the Beacon!, Beacon!, Beacon! with folk from all over the world attending :guitarist: The amazingly fun fan parties where everyone is made to feel welcome with plenty of LOVE, music and laughter where we can briefly escape the mundane work-a-day world. Rekindle a communal spirit for all things Allman and support various charitable causes. Where you're accepted whether you were at Watkins Glen if its your first show ever. Doesn't get any better. What a ride Duane started...:bike:
