Hey Reddog, Who else was in the Almost Brothers? I remember seeing yall play at a bar near Milledgeville around Spring or summer 1975. Butch had a band called Butch's Brew that either played the same night or another night very close to the same time. Remember the place? It was called the Butcher Shop II. It was on 441 N on the north side of Milledgeville. It was out in the sticks at that time, had a gravel parking lot and was one of those dives where anything goes! I remember the almost bros were tight!

"Just maybe not in a vacuum." No music? Well that would suck.

Nice idea, Dan. But the Martians and Venetians might feel like the guy stuck behind the Hummer at the traffic light with the mega-watt car stereo blasting gangsta rap! 😉 Orbital timbre ... I like the idea!

Lefty, no truer words bro. Music keeps the soul young. I love it. I am sure your playing is far above mine, but its the way it makes me feel free, and alive, when I set down and play. I love to make song up as I am strumming. Some good and some bad. Its the good ones that keep us coming back to keep trying to make it sound better, and to get better. Like golf. The difference there is maybe we put the four letter word in golf and take it out when we play music. I remember back when the Almost Brothers played, as bad as we were, some times we would hit a grove. One night after we had got real good, the melodies of songs were running threw my head all night. Didn't even want to have sex. I did not want nothing to change the way I was feeling. Free like a bird. Nice Tan Dan. Real nice.

It would be cool if the Earth soared through space emmiting the sounds of our music, all of us - animals, frogs croaking, ipods, old TV shows, all getting a turn, all of it drowning out the sounds of war and suffering. I can see it now... "Greetings from the not-so-late-great-planet- Earth! Tonight I bring the sounds to you from a tiny hamlet called Macon. A place where the vibe is still as slow as that river that flows past the resting places of the cosmic cats that laid this tune down not even a milli-second ago. Sure makes Mother Earth happy to send this along to you cosmic cowboys out there in the distant past. Listen now to 'Beginings".....yes, I know, NOT that one!"

Lefty the years just keep clicking by. They sure don't come back. Its fun to watch and waite for the ones to come. Rock on. If you cannot get an accurate measurement of a moving object, then how could we tell what the right pitch would be for the earth. The earth is in space, and space is supposed to be a vacuum, is there no sound in a vacuum? Friction causes sound, Is there friction in a vacuum, Music is everywhere. Just maybe not in a vacuum.

Lived in Islamorada for a few years, recall the place fondly...Gregg played at Plantation Harbor I believe in the late 1970s.

Hey now - Happy belated birthday, Lefty! I bet dollars to doughnuts you had a good one ... Whats that ChrisR -- the Green Turtle Inn has been torn down? I've eaten there dozens of times, the perfect half-way point to Key West, not to mention that Islamorada is a pretty decent destination itself! Why, oh why, did they tear it down???? Nice to see you posting PastDreams, I will really miss seeing you at the Beacon this year. I feel so sad that I won't be there.
