I listen to Don Imus pretty often, he was talking about Dickey in the last 2 or 3 weeks. His studio guy, Lou, who is supposedly a music expert was asked by Imus what band Dickey was now playing with, his reply was Govt Mule....so much for the expert....

Hola sweet family, MrMilas, you are an inspiraZen! :flower2: I'll think of something to bring up too ... although it won't be corn fudge ... that was a one time only creation for my angel man Kirk 😉 Poor Rowland is still bed-ridden. I'm working from home today (my FT job is in client development research for a pharmaceutical and biotech consultancy), checking on him often, here occasionally, and having pleasant exchanges w. TM. Seriously pleaseant 🙂 Take care and know that you are loved, Lana

Bird, I like vintage style guitars myself. That's why I put my own basses together now. I got a white P Bass that looks like a '62-'64, and I took my sunburst MIM Jazz Bass and made it look like a '66 with oval tuners and a blocks and binding neck. Have fun with the new Les Paul when you get it.

I remember seeing Derek with the band around '00 or so and thinking at the time, this guy is history in the making. You could just feel the intensity and brilliance with his humble, subtle, minimalist playing he could draw you to the mountain and back. He seems to continually be improving, discovering and I don't feel he's anywhere near peaked yet. He deserves everything good, seems like he's earning it well...paying his dues. I think Duane and Berry would be proud. Carrying the torch for the next generation to enjoy this beautiful, fun music. 'Round these parts, back in the day, he used to be referred to as 'the kid'...... :flower: :fish: :flower:

BDOB yes, it wasn't me. Ceramic 'Classic" pick ups= Too Hot ala "metal" and I am not a gold top type. I have in line a 96 Special (one of the "good" years) with one piece body, high gloss cherry finish, bound dot neck, and P100's that may become P90's. It is retro look and that is my style EXACTLY, simple and sweet. There is a darker tone with no maple cap VS LP Standard and dark suits me 🙂 I like the fat tone middle ground for blues lead..... Speaking of LP's, beware internet or mail order..... Les Pauls can come with two piece bodies now, yuck....... some do some don't.

Frim and Debbie, we all will make 2008 the Beacon to remember! I am not allowing myself to be bummed about not going. For once in my life I am making right choice over what I want choice and it actually feels OK, not good but OK 🙂 Sold my 74 Firebird, and I have the Uncle Sam money now, and some money to brighten my daughters week, and with luck I squeeze in a guitar to replace the whazzoo one I sold, it is the cost of a plane ticket but I still wouldn'thave had the other 1600 bucks to pull off Beacon. But it all is OK, I get a well lived Les Paul Special to get good enough to bring to 08 Beacon..... And I will see 07 summer shows with no guilt versus a credit card debt Beacon, so there is my exciting financial world 🙂
