Linnie, is that the guy that we were laughing about? With the long black hair. He was interesting, was a trip though for sure!
I really need to start paying more attention to the Guestbook. I don't read it enough, and I wish I did.
This weekend was the greatest time of my life. It can't be compared to a Beacon weekend, however, I enjoyed it a little bit more. There's a little more bang for your buck, and the weather, the hospitality, the open arms, everything is just a bonus. 🙂
Where to even start, I don't know. But the whole weekend was special, and to all the guys up north, you have to do this. I never want to miss this festival again. The whole weekend won my heart over for my decision to move to ATL next summer. But for 14 months, I'll deal with this glum snow weather in Syracuse.
It was great to meet Linnie when we got in. Bluedad, I told ya not to mess with me. We came close though. I'm not sure who got mac daddy of wanee lol. ho ho ho (insert Tim Allen laugh from tool time here).
The whole river road compound was special. And I didn't wander far from it with the exception of the shows. But I did manage to meet as many as I could from Helen's Hilton. Such a great setup you had over there. Wish we could combine it all! 🙂
Big thanks to Peachjam and Cat, Krishna Scott, Warjag and all the guys for having us be a part of the family for the weekend!
I'll post more later. There's just so much to recollect. 🙂
WANEE!
I was sitting next to the girl who is pictured on top of the RV while I was watching the jam. She was dancing alot and kept running into me and it was not the same girl that came to our campsite.
When did she get on top of the RV?And what did she flash? As I recall she was kinda not so well endowed but she was wearing a top that would make that obvious.
It wasn't the chic that was flashing people from on top of warjag's RV was it?!(check the threads...I think there is a pic of her BEFORE her Chesty LaRue freak out!)
I think Farmer Maggie said that she dropped her off in the Hilton area!
Hey Linnie was he a least a "cute" wookie?? I missed that event at Wanee. I wonder now if he knows how a woman might feel after she did something like that and was left to wonder what happened while she was passed out. He shoulda hooked up with the funny girl who ended up at the Hilton sat night before it started raining.
another wanee moment:
we got a bona-fide wookie at our campsite, passed out, then coherent enough to sing....but the wrong songs and stuff....hell he was even grunting.....funny, funny stuff.
i saw him the next day and he couldnt apologize enough. claims he drank a whole bottle of something....but he was relived to find out exactly where he had spent most of the night thursday 🙂
Posted this in a forum post but thought I'd add it here so you'd know about the new thread for Dylan I started.

Looking forward to the pictures! I never wandered too far from the Hilton's compound but I still had a most WONDERFUL time. I know I missed seeing a lot of folks because of that but there's always next year. To all who made my stay SO MUCH FUN, THANK YOU!!
Lefty,I REALLY want to see that kitty litter cake shot to show to Dylan's Mom & Dad. If you could email it to me I'd really appreciate it. I'm almost tempted to post their email address so everyone can tell them what a fantastic son they have raised. I think what I'll do is start a thread here on the forum for you to post comments to Dylan. At least he'll be able to read them & possibly I'll coerce Erin & Geary to take a look too.
Dylan and I made it only about a 1/2 mile before we had to re-tie the roof top items. Another mile on the interstate & we were cutting it loose and cramming it wet & all inside the van. BUT we succeeded & made it to S.C. safe & sound. I crawled out of the van, into the house & into bed and slept thru till Mon. morning. Poor Dylan had a harsh reality call having to go back to school Mon. morning. :p
Thanks to all who kept him so thoroughly entertained at both 'swimming holes'. Hopefully Grammaw will be in a better ambulatory state by next year. I KNOW there's no way he won't expect to make Wanee his annual birthday celebration. LOL
I LOVE y'all LOTS, gonna go start that thread now & finish up the 'drying' process. ugh!
LoveNPeace,
Carole

Thoughts, prayers & sympathies for all involved with the tradgedy in Va. Such an awful reality call.
random Wanee moment:
Walking to the river on Thursday with ABBstillrockin04 and his dad....those of you who have seen Mikey know that he does look a little bit (well, a lot like) Derek Trucks.
This man sees Mikey, jumps off his bike, runs up and starts thanking Mikey......"Oh man, thank you thank you thank you! can i please have your picture! please?" he even stops some random girl and says "YOU really should have your picture taken with this guy!".
Me and Pops look at each other, look at mikey and all think "Geeze, should we blow the gig for this guy?".......
too funny.....all weekend long, wtih the only exception being when the real derek was on stage, people kept stopping mikey thinking he was derek.
too effen funny.
i told him as long as he doesnt say its him (I did hear him say many times, "Im not him" but most people didnt care), than its no harm/no foul! hell, when they ask for autographs, sign your own name Mikey!
YOU ROCK you MACK DADDY! our boy had four girls following him around during Oteils set like little puppies....
ABBSTILLROCKIN04 is the Mack Daddy of Wanee 2007! YAHOOOOOO
well, all I can say is it would be great to play at Wanee on one of the official stages...I know we would do a good job...but the whole point for many of us is each other, and I get that whether my band plays or not..
to be honest, after watching saturday nights show, I think the ABB lineup can't be any better than it is right now..
BTW, I had a chance to finally see Vaylor's band on saturday..very cool music..
Almost forgot..............
the "Little Wing" at the Peach Family jams transended me to a higher level of conciousness!
Thank you for hitting every note of that amazing song throughout my whole body!
Did anyone besides Jamcam get that one on video?
Peachjam(Mark) & Mac brought Lane to Wanee,Linnie!
And Saira(aka "Festival Barbie") did find her phone at our site in the sand(somewhere) finally!
I think everyone lost something at one time or another in the middle of our campsite!(LOL)
I guess that's what happens when over 250 people show up to check out the Peach Family Jams!:)
I love all of of the amazing Brothers & Sisters that we have here.......Y'all are incredible!!
Matt, Origapeach....
thanks for the recap, i forgot about the Little Wing Pedro and the boys pulled out....got goosepimples thinking of that.......
thanks to DancingGirl for bringing Robert Randolph by the jam! i wonder if she ever found her phone...
OK, going to try to make this point while it's fresh on everybody's mind.
Feedback appreciated, as I am definitely biased on this one.
For Kirk, Bert, Ms Schrift, and anyone else who decides the Wanee lineup:
Your job is to make the event financially successful. That's a given.
In light of that, go back and look at the growth of the campsites connected to this site. Take a look at the crowd that came for music at the venue of BDOB and Bluedad. Look at the response from letting Bill Ector sit in last year.
Then ask yourself, if we book, as a unit, the Skydogs, Lefty Collins and the No Mercy Band, and the Capricorn Rhythm Section,--will it bring in more revenue than it costs us, via ticket sales that otherwise wouldn't happen?
Is there any way the money could be more wisely spent?
And you might want to get feedback from Robert Randolph, who watched from the front row. At the BDOB/Bluedad Stage.
Thanks to Lana for putting the Scott Boyer Benefit story on the front page.:)

Thanks to everyone for everything and especially to my soul sister who came to hang with me for her birthday!:D
What happend at Va Tech is unbelievable!!!! Just will never understand why someone would take innocent lives.
Everyone has had bad times in their lives, BUT I would NEVER take an innocent life because of my problems.
May God watch over all the lost children and bring peace to their grief stricken families.
May God watch over all of us......PEACE ON EARTH...GOOD WILL TO MEN...........praying those words come true someday.
