Hey to My Brothers and Sisters Of The Road. There is no place like home. I have been on a fishing mission and have not had a computer. Life is good. 😎
Thanks to Paul and Heidi, Sari and Danny and all those involved in the Wanee breakfast fundraiser for our brother ddt. You all are so Kind and we are fortunate to know you and Love you very much.
Danny Toler sends his Thanks and Love to all here and those who have supported all the benefits that have been held for him. He is hanging in there and doing the best he can. I have been listening to some 2004 DB&GS and it sounds good to hear Dickey, Danny and band tearing it up!!!!
Happy Birthday to my Brother Of The Road and favorite bass player Brother Dave Stoltz. May you have a Blue Sky day and may your Soulshine!! We Love you Brother Dave!!!! Peach.
Greetings to all and I hope that the folks attending Wanee have a great time.
Sad news about Levon Helm. I also was at Watkins Glen and saw that show with 600,000 of my closest friends. The Band was outstanding that day - I remember a remarkable solo by Garth Hudson during a rain storm. Levon and his unbelievable voice will be missed.
Just noticed on Ticketmaster that the Brothers are scheduled to perform in Boston at the Bank of America Pavilion on Aug 7th and 8th. Tickets not yet on sale - they are listed as going on sale May 7th. I am sure that Lana and friends will be announcing a pre-sale sometime soon.
Dont know how to post the vids like Rainy does but this video of Levon and the band is awesome.

I agree with Tony that it doesn't get better than "Music From Big Pink". Even at the time, people recognized its lasting impact: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/albumreviews/music-from-big-pink-19680810
At a time when clothing looked anywhere from wild to weird and when families were fractured by a perceived generation gap and by the issues of the day, the Band dressed simply and proudly posed with their families: http://theband.hiof.no/band_pictures/next_of_kin_tr.html
About 13 years ago, I obtained 14" X 20" print of this iconic photograph from its photographer, Elliott Landy, and it proudly hangs in my office: http://theband.hiof.no/band_pictures/band_mfbp_back.html
Greil Marcus' words written years ago still ring true: "They brought us in touch with the place where we all had to live. Against the instant America of the Sixties they looked for the traditions that made new things not only possible, but valuable; against a flight from roots they set a sense of place. Against the pop scene, all flux and novelty, they set themselves: a band with years behind it, and meant to last."
Rest in peace Levon. Thank you for who you are and the music you created. My life has been enriched because of you.
yes its 4/20 - Happy Birthday Larry and Don Mattingly!
It's 4/20!!!!! Everyone going to Wanee..........have a blast !!!!!!
Peace and love............
