Patrick, I've been to Tap Tap. It's decent food, from what I recall. The band she mentioned is JJ Maj and The Unpolished Brass. I have yet to see them perform, but they apprently have a decent following built up. Here's their Myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/jjmajandtheunpolishedbrass I wish I could have made the trek to ATL to see LeeRoy. We (my wife and youngest daughter) spent the day in Macon with my oldest daughter. I got home around midnight. Glad to be back to work so I can get my rest.

Hey,Sheep! Chuck plays trumpet sometimes for Jaimoe's Jass Band.Jaimoe is a very interesting drummer all by himself.I wish the ABB gave him more room to play. There is much to appreciate and enjoy there. He makes me play and feel like an old school blues dude or R&B guy which is great fun and real. Many thanks to Pete Scheips for a great time at his terrific open mike at Sully's.

ok, that was a great way to end the week! forgot that the fox play was a matinee, so I got to see most of lee roy's set, too bad I left a little early at 11:30 and missed "one way out" but that's ok--people came from near and far, like may-retta & charlotte (guess who?) and I talked to a blond woman with glasses from augusta who said htw'ers might want to drop into some restaurant called Tap Tap and see JJ Maj and the (something) horns, I told her about htw so I hope she drops in here to tell more about it, otherwise if bluedad and bdob get hungry, they got some place to go & check out whatever music they got there. saw a great set by lee roy, he did a lot of tunes he wrote, played some great slide and featured jay boy adams (I think?) who was real talented and opened for stephen stills last night. oh, his bus with gibson guitars all over it was parked outside, it looked great!

The value of community is never quite appreciated until it comes your way. I heard from many folks here after posting about my mother passing away. Wow...........powerful to hear from folks you do not really know. I think I needs to be gettin' my drummin' butt down to Gadsden and hang deeper with the tribe. Our Jam for Joanne went well.........had two guitar sit-ins help make it special - one plays blues and the other jazz............very special and both are serious players so it was meaningful in all ways. The song of the night = Milestones by Miles Davis............wow, y'all gotta check this one out if you like jazz and playing it with twin guitars and no wind instruments makes it power jazz!! again thanks too all here for the kindness extended. Gregg has is right..........."Y'all are a great bunch". best, Lang

Excellant Stephen Stills show last night in Atl. Patrick was there; in shorts, of course. If you get a chance, see this tour. Voice is great and playing is unsurpassed! 05.01.2007 Tampa, FL 05.02.2007 Melbourne, FL 05.04.2007 Jacksonville, FL 05.05.2007 West Palm Beach, FL 05.07.2007 Charleston, SC 05.08.2007 Charlotte, NC 05.09.2007 Charlotte, NC 05.11.2007 Westbury, NY 05.12.2007 Wilkes Barre, PA 05.14.2007 New York, NY 05.15.2007 Alexandria, VA 05.16.2007 Peekskill, NY "Duane Allman and I also used to play together back when he was in the Hourglass," he continues. "Every time we'd hit the same place at the same time it was, 'C'mon let's play. Get the band. Who wants to play drums? Who wants to play bass? Let's play, play, play.' The great thing about jams is learning - learning how to copy the other guys riffs. A guy lays down a rhythm riff, you play against that. Then when it's his turn, play the same rhythm he was playing with the same accents and so on. I'll tell you, sometimes when I'm on stage now I see ghosts as I play my guitar. Sometimes they're saying 'right on.' "-Guitar Player Jan 1976 Cool ghosts...
