Dan,
Why did Kirk ask you to leave?
Seth- I think we should throw a party on that tour and Jeanne maybe we could organize an international cancer walk-a-thon
BTW- in Italy we saw a grocery store called Tedeschi
peace and love--scotty
Hey I won ABB tickets off the radio years ago from an Aerosmith question.
WROQ in Greenville, SC 1995 the question was "What do Journey and Aerosmith have in common? My answer was "Two guys named Steve" The dj said wrong answer but what the hell because he had not thought of that. I gave the tickets to a friend being that I already had mine. We had a hellava party the day of the show. The Brothers played the last show at the Greenville Memorial Auditorium that year and blew the effing roof off. Dickey was on FIRE! Many have proclaimed it to be the best show ever at that venue.
I remember some dude coming through the crowd with about four beers and he couldn't carry 'em so I offered to hold them for him. I was next to the soundboard and the guy working the controls looked at me with a big ol grin so I gave him one of the beers. He laughed said thanks and cheers.
Later met Kirk for the first time backstage, he kindly asked me to leave.
Memories, some are vague but good ones remain clear. CHEERS!!!
yes Sang....i figured it couldn't hurt..:)
They gave Aerokiss records for winning an Allman trivia contest? What a dishonor! 😉
Thanks Jeanne! I'll tell Denise to get ready. The DTB Schnitzel to Sushi tour, here we come.
Scotty and Seth - the dTb tour notice I got today mentioned they are working on dates for Japan and Europe. I'll call Denise and Atisa when the dates come out to keep them informed. *smile*
Oh, and your welcome.
That was my first thought Scotty. If it were ABB, my bags would be packed.
the other night at the Stephen Stills show, there was a booth set up for one of the local radio stations. (all this talk about Lamar brought this back up)
i got to play trivia to win a prize.
they asked me "Which band?" and i said "Allmans". He goes, "OK, but these are hard!"
First question: Who are the two brothers in the ABB?
next question: Who was the bass player to replace Berry?
and finally, Where are Berry and Duane buried?
hard? try asking us something like "How many times was IMOER played?" now that is hard!
i am proud to say i didnt stumble on any of those questions, and was rewarded with a copy of Aerosmiths Greatest Hits.
lefty changed his name? 😆
Josh, you must have missed part of my post. I am FROM Indianapolis. I was born in Community Hospital, raised in the NE side of Indy near Lawrence, then moved to Zionsville, then back to the Castleton area, then wound up living on the NW side of Indy on Georgetown Road, five miles from Gate 1 of The Indianapolis Motor Speedway. I helped build the Hoosier Dome (I still refuse to call it The RCA Dome) but moved south before the Colts played their first game in Indy. I see you're in Ft. Wayne. Just to the south of you off of I-69 is a town called Anderson. I'm sure you've heard of it. That's where my mother's family is from and I still have two uncles and some cousins there. I am a HoosierPeach, Indy born, but Georgian by choice. Back in the 70's, Zionsville WAS podunk....population 3,000. Now it's like 15,000 or 20,000. I was there in November and I can't believe how subdivided it is now. All the corn fields we used to party in have million dollar homes on them now. And Evans, GA is an affluent suburb of Augusta. We may not have much in the way of population, but we have a great little community here. 🙂
Happy about potential Gregg dates and wondering what that means for LA area gregg and even scarier allman dates.... does gregg dates mean that there are no lefty allman shows????
sorry about the conspiracy theory...
Also dig the italy dates.. I can imagine seth's (sheep's) wife calling mine and saying... time for a second honeymoon.
Thanks everyone for the aniversary wishes.
peace and love--- scotty
BDOB...come one, Podunk, IN.
Not sure if you remember or not but Indianapolis, the home of this RR Facility you speak of, also happens to be home to the World Champion Indianapolis Football Colts. :mohawk:
Indianapolis Pop.: >780,000
Evans, GA pop: <18,000
I see that Derek Trucks will be playing with Wynton Marsalis at the Jazz at The Lincoln Center Benefit in May 14th....Kevin Spacey will be there too!
That's a wierd but fantastic combo (Spacey and Trucks) from a Mr. and Mrs. B point of view....
Thanks, Bup  - Bobo isn't "right" about too much but that was an easy one.....
With the ABB playing in Michigan in late August........
We Chicago area peachheads can only hope for a stop here too.......
EAPFP
Or Lamar's bass line...
Bobo's right--Win, Lose or Draw. Came out shortly after Dickey's Highway call, as I remember. Both produced by Johnny Sandlin. No telling how many 8-tracks of both I wore out....still got Chuck Leavell rattling around in my head.
The only version of High Falls I have heard is from a show I recieved from 76'
