so glad to read of the excellent Dickey reviews - just wish I could have been there but I needed to visit with a certain adorable five year old!
Loving the Dickey love 🙂
It was an incredible relief to close my eyes and have the music grab me again as it did at The Dickey Show at The State Theater last week. I nearly went to the city last Saturday night and regret that I didn't make the effort.
Bless Dickey Betts & GS for a magical show on Saturday night!

Rainy glad you got your Dickey show! Dickey looked great when we saw him in Sarasota
Bet you had a big time!
a bit more about Danny's Benefit last night.
As we all know, Danny's talent demands only the best on vocals, imho..Dickey & Gregg to name a few.
Once again in Charlotte County, Verceal Whitaker handled the vocals for Danny last night.
Verceal Whitaker is to vocals, what Duane Allman is to slide.
Her voice is magical, sweet and angelic, in the vein of Diana , gospel tinged and raw as Aretha..to hear Verceal sing, one wonders where she has been alll our lives.
One of those rare performers that has been blessed by Grace from above.
the artistic Chemistry between Danny and Verceal is undeniably charged with a fire, a freshness..one can only imagine the good things to come from the two of them working together.
Dangerous Dan , against all odds his baby blues & flashing smile a big as the deep blue sea is wide.
Dan's quitar breathed life into that little theatre in the heart of Port Charlotte , while Verceal's song lifted high , a spiritual salve to right every wrong.
I believe there is a cd in the works. Something to look forward to
Many thanks and much love to Danny , Verceal and the band for so fine an evening in SW FLA.
I've seen and heard Rollin' In The Hay in Augusta. Awesome performers, great vocal harmonies.
Rusty, Stan is also married to Donna Hall, Jimmy and Jack Hall's little sister.
Congratulations to Birmingham's, Rollin' In The Hay on being selected (voted by fans) to play at this year's Bonnaroo Festival!
The guys were selected via a national on-line pole. Not sure which format they'll perform in (sometimes a 3-piece acoustic outfit - sometimes electric and with a drummer), but I know they'll absolutely kill at Bonnaroo!
Leader, Rick Carter is a veteran of over 40 years (started playin' pro when he was like, 12 years old). Bassist, Stan Foster is just among the best! A fine singer, too. And as Rick says about guitarist, Johnny Kulinich, "if there's a better guitar player in the world, I have yet to meet him."
I'm too old to "do the dew" (much less attend Bonnaroo), but if y'all do go - seek out Rollin in the Hay!

Dangerous Dan Toler took Charlotte County to Church people!
I mean to tell you, Danny looked great (thanks for the kiss Dan ) andif it is possible, his playing continues unparralleled .
the LOVE that was in that lovely theatre in the heart of Port Charlotte..from the moment Danny came out, the crowd roared and was on their feet and it never let up til the last song was played and everyone rushed the stage...DDT in the house..Amen!
more in the morning..God bless
Peachies
Read the excerpts from Gregg's book in Rolling Stone. Just enough to whet your whistle. The Cuyahoga County (Cleveland) Library System has 14 copies and of course they are all out now but I am fifth on the list so I should have my hands on it shortly. Can't wait. A quality recovery for Gregg and I hope to see him at All Good in July.
:birthday: Jody!!! Hope you had a special day and celebrated the way you wanted! Much love to you!!!
Whether you think much of "Rolling Stone" or not, there are two photos that include Derek and a long excerpt from Gregg's book in issue 1156. I like that! :yep:
Happy birthday Jody !!! You are one special soul...miss ya girl
Haven't been around in a while. I kind of hybernated during the Beacon as it pained me not to be there. My company got acquired a month ago and we are scrambling to make the new parents happy which translates into 12-14 hour days and lots of weekend stuff. One fun thing was I was @ a conference last weekend and my wife came along for a couple of days and ended up hitting a 4000 dollar jackpot. Yippee!!!!
All my best and prayers to Gregg, I sincerely hope he is feeling better. I'm waiting impatiently for my copy of Greg's book. Can't wait. Going up to the high Sierra's for some trout fishng next week. Hope everyone out there in ABB land is well, ya'll a great bunch!
Happy Birthday Jody! Hope you have a great day.
Mitch
late Happy Birthday sister Jody! Have very fond loving memories of fun show nights when we all were hangin'.... I hope you had and continue to have birthday love 🙂
One more thang - I cannot wait to get my hands on Gregg's book. I'll be looking for my mailman!
