Hey there sweet family, :birthday:Happy birthday, Hastings!:birthday: Speaking of voting, the fine folks at HeadCount have thanked the Allman Brothers Band for getting their Register to Vote button up on the home page. HeadCount says they have already registered about 1,000 voters from the bands that have gotten the buttons up! 2008 is gearing up to be very exciting for them and they couldn't do it without your help - if you haven't already registered, please go to the home page and do so. Rock the vote! :mohawk: Take care and know that you are loved, Lana

Read in my local paper yesterday that Petty is doing a concert at Riverbend in Cincy in early July. Forget the exact date, but it's early. Makes me think that ABB might be there as well this year. Sure hope so.

Charles, I was told when Petty toured in 06 for his 30th anniversary tour, that it was "possible" that it may be the last for he & the heartbreakers, but nothing for sure...obviously now! It was a great show though, I enjoyed it. Sounds like most everyone did...not to mention a pretty exciting game of ball!

Brother Kenny has been laying down some great posts on the AG forum concerning the music we all love.... To Brother Kenny ( olddirtroad ) Thanks for keeping it real. Love Ya! ...for Kenny... Wreck This Heart by Bob Seger I feel the cold wind blowin' all over me I see the dark clouds startin' to form The trees are bare; the grass is brown Another early winter Michigan storm Everything I do is just a little wrong Every day for me is the same Everyone I know is gettin' in my face And I only got myself to blame I think I'm gonna wreck this heart Wreck this heart Wreck this heart.. After a while Big boss tells me my work is off My wife wants me to come home I miss my kids.. I miss my dog I've been spendin' too much time alone I've got bills to pay.. promises to keep And it's all hangin' over my head I've got miles to go before I sleep I'd rather be with her instead I think I'm gonna wreck this heart Wreck this heart Think I'm gonna wreck this heart.. After a while There's time to work.. time to live There's only so much time around And if you lean too far over the wishing well You might fall in and drown Am I talkin' too fast.. am I hard to hear? Have you understood a word that I've said? Let me put it to ya this way And underlined in red Order me case of your southern soul And let me out tonight I need a good, long ride on your rodeo And everything will be alright And Im gonna wreck this heart Wreck this heart Wreck this heart.. After a while I'm gonna wreck this heart I'm gonna wreck this heart Think I'm gonna wreck this heart.. After a while Yeah Yeah

I thought the National Anthem was lip-synced, too. I thought it was noticeable toward the end of it last night. However, I believe that many of them are pre-recorded on that kind of a stage and setting. The famous Whitney Houston version back in the early '90s when the Giants beat the Bills was pre-recorded. Still can't believe that game! I bet the area where I used to live in northern NJ was going crazy last night. 🙂 :spinner:

MissElf, anytime you dance the house rocks. I too thought it was a great halftime show. However, I was left somewhat puzzled. I thought last year or the year before that (when the ABB decided to blow off Charlotte so they could open for Tom in Pittsburg) was supposed to be the Heartbreakers "Farewell" Tour??? Now it appears they're touring again. Hmmmm ... Also I didn't see it, but my buddy swears Jordin Sparks lip synced the National Anthem! How friggin' cheesy.
