Several GBers have heard this story, and I trust TanDan won't mind a wider telling of it, so here goes. To set up the story, I work at Bibb Music in downtown Macon. Second, some GBers, when they make a Macon pilgrimage, Dan among them, will stop in and see me at work. Third, for the last 26 some odd years, whenever the Boston song "More Than a Feeling" came on the radio I would think of a certain girl.A couple of weeks ago Dan was in the store and brought his family with him, his two kids and his wife. He introduced his kids and then presented the wife for introduction-and my knees got weak. I said "Mary Anne?" and she goes "Byrd?" You may have guessed by now that she was the lady that the song reminded me of. After telling Dan that we had dated in college, Dan just kind of wondered the store while Mary Anne and I caught up on 26 years of history. I've seen Dan twice since then, at the Big House film premiere in Macon and at the Robin Trower show in Atlanta, and we've enjoyed talking of the experience, probably one of biggest small world experiences of my life. And now you know the rest of the story!
Byrd
Linnie,
Give peas a chance!
Byard
Real music played by real musicians being enjoyed by real people. That's what it's all about.
Seeing Tommy Talton and Randall Bramblett would've been a treat by itself. When you're able to lay back in an upholstered chair, or get up and boogie on the floor at your descretion -while enjoying the company of some very fine folks - that's as good as life gets!
Great meeting Helen, Kevin, Pat, Syd, Erin, Tony and little Ms. Thang (sorry, but I don't think we were introduced), and David and Ellen at the motel. When the whole troupe moved over to the Capitol Theater it got even better. There we saw Greg Potter, Joe Bell, Reneed (and her little Ms. Thang), Miss Terry ... and a whole bunch of others.
A night - no, a WEEKEND of great music and friends! Great time at breakfast this morning followed by a short drive home. We hope to see everybody again soon. Y'all have almost got us talked into Wanee! 😉
