Hola brothers and sisters,
:flower2: Just sent out a POG about the NYC Premiere of "Please Call Home". There's also a new Forum topic about it.
Would have posted it here, but it's kind of long.

Elder's Meditation of the Day - April 25
"In some mysterious and wonderful way you are part of everything, Nephew. And in that same mysterious and wonderful way, everything is a part of you."
--Nippawanock, ARAPAHOE
In order to experience this, we must be aware of how limited our senses are—eyes, ears touch, smell, taste. These senses help us to function in the Seen World. What we see is interpreted by our minds and put inside our belief system, and this can become our reality. But there also exists an Unseen World. In this world we experience connectedness; we experience the mystery; and we experience another whole point of view. If we pay attention to both the Unseen World and the Seen World, our belief systems will print in our mind a new and wonderful reality. We will see and know we are a part of everything.
Great Spirit, today, give me the knowledge to know this mystery.

For those who don't frequent the Forum, on Tuesday I visited Rose Hill to pay my respects to Brother Duane and Brother Berry. The fence is complete and the landscaping looks gorgeous -- what an improvement! The grave site is now a beautiful place of serenity. It is a wonderful addition to Rose Hill and a truly great honor to our Brothers. I thought I would share some photos I took.

Thanks for the Birthday wishes guys...much appreciated! I really miss seeing all of you this past March with the cancelled Beacon run. I know a bunch of us as usual will be at PNC and of course Wharfstock '08 in the parking lot...and other places on the road as well. Linnie, nice mini-review on The Black Crowes "WARPAINT". I have been wearing that one out myself. Luther sounds just incredible with them. A very tasty player - especially his fills and of course he is brilliant on slide guitar. Easily their best album since "Three Snakes and One Charm". Highly recommended...

Obama and the Guest Book.
Luke the man is running for the president of the United States. I think discussion, concerns, etc as long as done in a civil manner is a healthy thing.
of course opening a thread is always voluntary..
I'd like to play this one out for all you Hep Cats
Lincoln savings and Loan Bail Out Blues : By J. McCain and the Keating Five

Happy trifects of a B-days to Stephen, Eddie and Mikey. Boy do I miss seeing the Derek look alike pound on the skins and Eddie jamming away....
Heard from Big Dave that Derek with Santana is worth it. Informed that DTB plays the most jam packed 50 minutes making every minute count adn then Derek jammed with Santana for 30 minutes of Santana's 2 hr 30 minute show.
speaking of Derek and Santana I did this at about 8 minutes into it

Susan played a great show last nite...enjoyed the groove and the vibe..really cool.
Rusty and Donna...great Hosts..ya'll missed some good eats and treats...
also struck me today that i havent seen too much mentioned about the Bonobos set or the jam session they held this year at Wanee....
our spot on the top of the hill near the small stage was perfect for going over to Vaylors scene....that was a total SCENE too, man....wild stuff - dancing girls, guys, lights, fog.....The crew had a full band set up and had the amps muffled, so unless you where right on top of them you couldnt hear, which was sorta surreal..... I recall wandering over there about 2AM Thursday or Friday (its a little fuzzy) and being greeted by this really cool rave-esque scene that was perfectlly timed and welcomed....cool scene and i'm glad that i finally got to experience it; different from what we all talk about here all the time for sure. It was nice to see how those outside our little group here enjoy their selves at this Festival.
My satisfaction and enjoyment of the Wanee festivus has increased by a factor of 50 each year i've attended, this year the Bonobos party Jam was one of the many highlights for me....thanks Vaylor; good stuff brotha........
and as always, my undying thanks to Jesse and Marc for giving us a great home up on the Hill.
peace again!
Heard some good jams coming into work this morning....best $10 bucks i've spent on a cd in a long time...."Warpaint" by the Black Crowes....this one has Luther Dickenson with the NMAS on it....i highly recommend it to fans of TBC! Luther seems to be bringing a very good mix of the usual Rock and Roll boogie i've come to expect from the Brothers Robinson and his addition on this album that seems to make it a bit more deep than other black crowes albums. Lots more sexy slide then the usual TBC.
heck, its been 7 years since the last Black Crowes disk and this one has some definate jammy songs on it...."Evergreen" is one of those songs that i can't wait to hear live, along with "Wee Who See The Deep".....when Chris starts singing "its all right sisters...........its alllllll right brothers...." on "Movin' On the Down The Line" you just KNOW that this song will fit into their shows like a hand to a glove....Chris also seems to be lamenting quite a bit on this one effort....lines like "For a while, I was dealing in tears and powders/For a spell, I was strung out beyond my means" makes ME lament and empathize of all the changes that seven years can bring, and i'm betting that line sounds familiar to lots of us 😉
anywho, for those of us around here that love TBC, RUN, don't walk to get this one. My only complaint is that the actual production of this cd leaves a little to be desired, it sounds a bit muffled to me. I tried it on a few different sound systems with the same result; sounds like they recorded this one with cotten on the mics or something....
I guess this is the determining factor to get me to Orlando finally; they play the House of Blues on November 11th. (i've been avoiding Orlando like the plague but this is as close as they are coming to me).
OK, peace all over you all...good day to all!
:birthday: wishes to Mike, Stephen, Eddie..
Hope you are all enjoying your Blue Sky Day
:love2: :love2: :love2:
