Too much sad news this year..praying for something good to happen.
Today is my mom's birthday.........Happy birthday Mom, I miss you so much.
My condolences to Terri and her family. 😥
Just letting you know that TerriB's mom, Louise Gipson passed away this morning. Please keep Terri and her family in your prayers.
😥
Teresa - so glad your daughter was not seriously injured -
Wow good for you Red Dog - that kid will never forget your encouragement -
I too need a Dickey show!!
Teresa I'm so relieved that your child Kelly is doing okay. Wow, what an experience for a family to go through. Sending best regards always from Macon, Georgia.
Also Byard - - - I'll have to check out the Dustin kid's work on guitar. I think I've met his mom. Also speaking of Red Dog Campbell, his pride and joy stepson Clark has one helluva songwriting musical group called Nomenclature that's developing a good following in Macon area. I'm betting my money on those guys to turn a few heads down the road maybe sooner than later. While some of the sixties and seventies music scene are starting to have human mileage issues, Thank God there's always a few special ones of a new generation gifted enough to help carry the torch of their predecessors.
Yeah we were lucky that Kelly seems to be ok. I did have her checked at the walk in clinic this afternoon. She was really scared! She was hit by a 79 year man pulling out of a parking lot and he said he did not see her as she was coming up the right lane of the street he was turning into. She said she was obeying the laws and minding her own business. His driver front side of a mid -size SUV hit the passenger front side of her Honda Civic and spun her around so that her car was facing the parking lot he was exiting. I believe it totaled her car! Nobody was hurt much and she was lucky she did not lose control or roll over or get hit from other cars coming up the road behind her. Her airbags worked well and we are so grateful because it could have been much worse. I have 2 teenage drivers now and a few more gray hairs today!
Rick, driving has become such a dangerous venture. I believe talking on cell-phones is a major reason. A few weeks back we were leaving a parking lot - green light in my favor. As I eased out into the intersection, I just happened to glance to my left. I saw a smiling young girl so rapt in her phone conversation that she failed to notice she was running a red light. I feel like I spared at least 2 folks. Probably us.
~~Happy Fathers Day~~
To all the fathers here hope ya'll are having a good day!
Happy day to all the Daddy's!
Just to show how life is...we received a call from my sister to tell us one of her co-workers 17 year old daughter was killed this weekend in a single car accident. Her body was so mangled they would not the mom view her body.
Kids and cars...how we made it through those teenage years is amazing.
Some of you may have read about this about a month or so ago here in Birmingham. A group of teenagers...following thir mom..were driving on the interstate when one of their hats flew off. The driver is on the side of the road and starts backing up opposing traffic, loses control, and a Fed Ex 18 wheeler slams into the car. The resultant impact was so severe it knocked the boots off the drivers feet and killed 4 kids instantly.
I am glad you reported your daughter is OK. Give her a big 'ol hug from the extended family.
Gosh, I hope she's all right, Teresa! Cars can be replaced, obviously....
Happy Father's Day to all the Peach Head Dads out there. Just had to ruin my husband's day out at the College World Series games in Omaha by telling him that our 16 year old , driving for 4 months daughter had a wreck today. She is lucky she didn't get hurt much but I can't say the same for her car! Just had the doctor check her out. She had some air bag scrapes and bruises and she hit her chin on the steering wheel but otherwise she is ok and LUCKY!
Insurance and body shop issues tomorrow!
Hope you all have a great day!
Happy Father's Day to all!
Mitch
Happy Daddy's Day to all the Daddies here. And a big shout out to my hubby Virgil. Happy Daddy's Day darlin'.
Happy Dad's Day to all father's, grandfathers and beyond!
Saw CS&N last night and had a blast. Although the vocals are not quite as good as they used to be and Stills was a little rough on lead a few times it was a great show. I couldn't put down the entire set list but highlights included (for me anyway)
Long time Gone
Southern Cross
Helplessly Hoping
49 bye byes
Marakesh Express
Wounded World (Stills new album)
Last three songs were stellar
For what it's worth
Almost cut my hair (my personal favorite CSNY song)
Wooden Ships
Lots of ohters that escape me right now, but it really was a moving show since their music meant so much to those of us that lived in the Viet Nam/Nixon era.
Also a lot of dialogue from the band, Crosby especially was funny and engaging to the audience.
I highly recommend seeing these guys as they really are getting up there in years and it is an emotional experience. they mentioned that they first played the Greek 40 years ago. I'm really glad I went.
