Boobs and beer.
I'm not a medical professional and I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, but offer free boob "inspections".
Seriously, awareness and regular mammograms are important parts of you ladies' health program. Don't forget to do that and don't ignore "things" that you shouldn't.
Jeanne, congratulations on the outstanding news.
Forgive me if this has already been posted but I do want to give a warning to those traveling to Charlotte for Saturday's night show...I've just moved and have not had internet service for a few days (the great Time Warner people could not schedule it for several days!!) and I dont have time to go back searching through the posts for this topic...
Buy your gasoline for your return trip home before you get to Charlotte. I do know if you are coming from the north that you can get gasoline in Concord and Salisbury. I paid $3.85 at Sam's Club in Concord this morning...in Salisbury, $3.95 and $3.99. Most of stations in these areas seem to have regular unleaded or at least they did this morning.
Safe travels to all....
:waving: Carol McDonald!!!
Sounds like a great show last night! The road goes on...
Bless you, Jeanne, for all you do to promote awareness regarding breast cancer (and putting your feet where your mouth is - in a very good way! :D) You are an .
Congratulations Eileen!!! Wonderful news here! :clapping:
So many here and all over the world have been affected by this terrible disease in one manner or another. Ladies - you have an opportunity to participate in the slaying of this dragon. Check out the following website for another way you can help in eradicating this disease.

What ever happened to Egypt and Illness
Had a fine night of music at Merriweather...Arrived as P & F were kicking in...really inpressed by them. I was a huge fan of the Q but this group gets it done.
Allman's tight as a drum, not "my" set but a great one and a great "Les Brers". I'd call it a Warren night.
Those down the line...you're gonna love it!
From recent setlists, you would never know the ABB put out such a strong studio album just 5 years ago.
How about some Desdemona, Old Friend, or High Cost of Low Living next weekend in Atlanta!?!
:clapping: WAY TO GO EILEEN!!! :clapping:
Beer and Boobs they go together so well!!!
For those looking for last nights setlist, here it is in it's entirety.
Thanks to Cujo for once again giving us the play by play...

got mine Jeanne - thanks for doing what you do!
oh, BTW, the 2 hour show is because they're co-headlining with Phil & Friends. 2 hours of each would really push my happy buttons just fine, thankyouverymuch. someone posted P & F's setlist on the Forum - looks like GREAT tunes start to finish from both bands. woo-hoo!
Hey now, great to hear the boys are bringing joy to the peach world! So much negativity and uncertainty is swirling around these days it's good for the soul to lose yourself in the music for a bit.
It's October! Some consider it the official month of Beer, but it is also the official Breast Cancer Awareness month. So I guess we turn our attention to Beers and Boobs!
Team Eileen takes to the Manhattan streets this weekend in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer along with thousands of others in a wacky pink 40 mile parade. We hope to raise awareness and if we get one person to finally make that appointment for a mammogram, well, we've succeeded. Ladies - regular self breast exams and mammos are still considered to be the most effective means of early detection. Early detection means increased survival odds.
Many in this community have been touched (slapped) by breast cancer and have supported Team Eileen through the years. If you don't mind, I'd like to share some news from my friend and team captain, Eileen. A few weeks ago she went for a follow up with her oncologist and here is what she had to say:
__________________________
Yippee!! After ten years of battling breast cancer, I have finally reached a major marker and I can say I am five years cancer free. I am so forturnate. The last time I was due to celebrate my five years, I was with my surgeon for my check up and discovered a new lump in my breast. Oh, but this time, I am really there. YES, I AM CANCER FREE. -eileen

Soooo....while we are very excited and cautiously optimistic, Team Eileen is not ready to hang up our sneakers and funny pink hats. There are many women out there who deserve a "Yippee" of their own and we hope to help them get there. We walk for them and to honor those that we've lost to this disease.
Thanks to Lana and Rowland for the chalkboard and thanks to the Peach community for caring.
