Music in Central City Park this Sunday to honor Brother Duane. Price to get in is one or more can goods. This is the way I like it. Bands play for free. No body makes money. It would be nice to see one day all the places that have a day of music for Duane to have them all on the same day. This could go on all over the country. Now that would be something. So all the people that put these shows on. Start the talk about a day right here. It will mushroom.
There is great news here. Charles glad to about your family. That I am sure was some good news. Plus the new discovery. I have always been concerned, if I got cancer, about the treatment and not the cancer.
I got to be off my rocker. Going to play golf. My two buddies I play with have side covers and heaters. So maybe it wont be to bad. bur. Strong wind and cold does not make for a good score. It has been cold here and on the whole east coast. I am glad I am not in the Apple. My bones are to close to the surface.
Good Morning everyone.
Its good to be a fan of The Allman Brothers Band. The music just doesn't get any better.
Hophead brought up Hoop Cheese or Rat Cheese some folks call it. You can also find it in all the little produce stands in all the sharp curves in the Mountains of NC. Susie and I bought some once with some pickles and ritz crackers. Its awesome. There is a new type cracker out now with a ritz type cracker on one side and a pretzel cracker on the other. I think they are made by Town House. Throw some rat cheese on that, and a jar of Mt Olive Sour pickles and you have a instant picnic.......
Just announced on CNBC...the Brittish Journal of Medicine (Lancet) reports Astra Zeneca's new lung cancer drug as effective as chemotherapy. One pill a day, none of the toxic effects of chemo.
I know of 3 people who were killed by the treatment while fighting this disease. It is brutal. This is good news.
That's really great news, Chris. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
Good Morning Guestbook!!! I would like to pass on some wonderful news. As some of you may know my father-in-law, Joe Pender, was diagnosed with esophageal cancer this July. After one major surgery and 6 weeks of intensive chemo therapy and radiation, he went for his CT Scan this Monday. He got the results back this Thursday and they found ... NO CANCER!!! :clapping: :fanfare: :fly:
Although my father-in-law meets with another surgeon next Tuesday and may have to have more surgery during December, this is the absolute best news our family could receive this Thanksgiving. We are truly thankful for God's Amazing Grace. And I would love to thank each and every one of you folks here who sent prayers and healing vibes to my father-in-law and our family. They worked. May God bless y'all. Happy Holidays and a prosperous New Year to everyone. Peace! :flower2: :hammer: :jump:  :mohawk: :realhappy: :reddancer: :skipper: 😉
Scotty - thanks for the kick in the..er, mule this morning! I got your message the other night. Heading down to the fishcamp this weekend where there will be no fishing or camping. Unless fishing a lime out of my T&T or camping in front of the fireplace in my comfy robe counts!
Hope everyone has a great weekend.
I wonder if the Attorney General passed out from one to many relaxing pills or just to much drink? He is up and rocking this morning.
yes, Scotty!! :jump: Thank you, too! :jump:
Sorry I missed your call the other night...we sure do need to catch up!
What a football game this Sunday - Jets v Titans - and then 2 hours of 24 - lol
Rick I have only heard it a couple of times. I will check that out. Hard to tell sometimes coming off the tube. I do know Miller lite had people who could sound like Dickey and play his licks. I am aware of the trade and switch stuff. So what you said does not surprise me.
Got home from work last night and had a package from Brent. Thanks bro, those Jam For Duane t-shirts are really nice! I'll wear it with pride. See ya at next year's Jam!

Scotty, thanks for the morning Mule kick :jump:
...and Dog, if you listen closely, I am not sure that is the Duane version of the tune.
Well Rick, that clears that up. Somebody at Gallo knows something. Real Allman people know that song, but not a lot of the general public.
ah, Dog that Gallo commercial has been running for about a month in this market anyways.
My Brother just brought Kay & I some raw oysters from Pensacola, Fl. They were great Just listened to Fillmore East. Following it with B-ham 08. Burning some meat.
Thank You Duane !
Yes Big Dave Twiggs played that guitar in the Almost Brothers, I just don't remember the ford. I will get with scoots and I am sure he can refresh my memory. Right now it is not running along with the way this story is going. I sure do thank you for taking the time to run it down.
I do wonder if Gallo Wine had the commercial with little Martha playing in the background to go along with Duanes birthday, or just by accident. Still it could not have been at a better time for them. That sure is a fine song. Just flows and makes me feel good with mental pictures to top it off.
Listened to Filmore East today..........God Bless you Duane Allman. You have touched my soul forever.
Hophead described it so technically well...broken down
Hoop cheese is sex on a Ritz cracker
