Capn, with all due respect, I don't think you can honestly say there wouldn't be an ABB had Betts not been born. Duane and Gregg would have still been born, playing music, etc., but had they not met Betts in a club in FL and eventually joined forces with him, the band, as we know it, probably wouldn't exist. It may have been *The Allman Brothers Band,* but it would have had a different sound and different dynamics. One event in history sets of a whole series of events. Funny how life works like that. The stars were in perfect alignment on March 26, 1969 in Jacksonville, FL.
