Rusty, they pull it off in B. ball. They start out with 65 teams. It works. So its no big deal for football. Just the right thing to do. Win it on the field not in the press. Some sports writers gets to pick, and a lot of them don't see the main games. East coast writer writes about a team and the west coast writers go with what the East coast writer said and neve saw the team play. But he votes. Great system.

Good morning, fine folks. Happy Friday. Yes, Tebow should have won the Heisman. Bradford is a great thrower but Tebow is the epitome of a college QB - such fun to watch. Re: Dickey speaking of fallen brothers. I'm just a kid in Indiana trying to raise a family and keep all the balls in the air - I don't work in the music industry (just spend a lot of $$ on it) but about 8 yrs ago the stars aligned and b/c I knew a guy who worked for a guy...I hung out w/Double Trouble for 2 days while they were promoting their album - 'got to meet Susan T (that Derek guy sure is LUCKY) and Kenny Wayne. 'Anyway, I'll never ever forget how Chris Layton and Tommy Shannon spoke of Stevie Ray - it was as if he had just left the hotel room to go to the bathroom...like he was still alive but just not 'there'. They told lots of stories w/o even knowing it. It was really neat to see and experience and, honestly, taught me a lot about how 'we' should treat/discuss those who have passed. 'Sounds like Mr. Betts speaks of many in the same way. Moogis? I can't make the Beacon unless I start buying lottery tix - I just sure hope it's working as well as everyone says b/c I can't friggin wait!!!!! 😎

Florida is for real. They deserve the Championship. Best team won. Would Utah have beaten Florida? Yes.

Congratulations to the University of Florida! The second half rally was spectacular! I still think that Utah deserves some consideration. The argument that Florida played a tougher schedule is a viable one. Maybe this is another year for co-champions. This will spark more debate over a play-off system. I'm just not sure that would ever work out for a number of reasons. For one, the number of teams who go to bowl games would get cut dramatically. All of the lesser bowls (the Papa John's Pizza Bowl, etc) would be used as 1st round games. How often, how many times can the schools and fans afford to travel? How much time away from the books for the "student-athletes" (assuming they go to class to begin with)? All in all, it's been a great year for NCAA football.

I would like to thanks those that have posted about Brother JoeDan. It made my sister feel better yesterday. You touched her heart. Again I thank you for that. Cream came to the top last night. I still say Utah is number one. Last nights game did show the Tbow was robbed. He showed he was the real winner of the hi. and Bradford was just another good Thrower. I did think the refs could have been replaced. Cardinals and Warner might be the team to watch. Like Donovan, he has been kicked around. The man still has it. Just could be a surprise. Moogis, this is Butch's thing, Right? I am wondering if this is a Butch thing or are the other two, Gregg and Jaimoe, involved. By that I mean does Butch makes all the money. Or is it a band sharing thing. Just curious about that.

I want to remember Joe Dan here and his kindness to me when I auditioned for the ABB..He was such a "salt of the Earth" kind of guy and a total natural. When I was in Great Southern,Dickey loved to talk about him and often did. That was such a treat. One of the cool things about Dickey is that he had no issues with talking about the dear departed such as Duane,Berry and Joe Dan.He brought you in and brought you close to them like they were still here and he made them live again and you could know them, too and be friends with them even if you had never met them.He was very generous like that.Dickey had some hilarious Joe Dan stories and he is the best story teller. Joe Dan gave me good advice that nite of the audition. He was very wise and truly righteous without being the least bit self righteous.I miss him alot.I am very proud and happy to count Judi as a dear friend.Judi,I think, has the same good character traits as Joe Dan.She is a peach!

Joe Dan Petty Friend, Musician, Cobbler & Counselor Kind memories of Joe Dan here. I Still own and sometimes wear my oldest, lightest, and most comfortable pair of shoes that he put new soles on at least four times. One can remember like yesterday when stopping by the Peach Cobbler shop in Macon, he had a soft spoken laid back, and comfortinng voice gifted with wisdom and dry humor that could literally turn a stressful day into a lighter walk, sometimes not having to say a word to make people feel better. Often folks would just drop in to talk with Joe Dan because he was such a good listener while he worked away making custom boots or restoring tattered shoes. Joe Dan could take a pair of old ratty falling apart shoes and make them shinier and better than the day they were bought. They were called THE LIFTERS, but most people around the music scene here when talking about happenings around town in the eighties would call their pals with the reminder simply that "Joe Dan's Band" is playing tonight downtown. The Rookery seems to have been the only good place to go in Middle Georgia for good live music during those days. Judi I'm being repetitive to say his presence was a blessing and that you will always be a special and genuinely good neighbor in Macon, Georgia. Thanks for being my friend. Thanks to Joe Dan for his kind hearted spirit. John G. - - - Macon, Georgia

can you guys fill me in on moogis. Is it now up and running? how much is it and how do you get signed up and mostly importantly do we know for sure that the Beacon shows will be available? I remember Butch posting about this right here on the gb, but then i never heard another word about it. i just googled it and the only matches were articles from 1996. any help would be greatly appreciated. btw, derek will be coming to Reading for the Berks Jazz Fest this year. April 2nd I believe, tickets are on sale already.

changing channels... Its hard to pull for Florida because the rivalry between Auburn and Florida is too strong. Another reason is if Florida wins, Alabama fans will assume their team is actually better than it is.

things are crazy here at work today, i got stuck with the second shift mostly because i havent a clue what a Gator is outside of the small one in the pond next door....all the guys here in IT either called out or left early! all week long people kept asking me "where are you watching the game" and i thought they meant the Eagles/Giants! lol WELCOME TO Jacksonville! here is your tattoo, your "Salt Life" sticker, and a free step stool to get on the Gator bandwagon! 😉 :freaked: of course i will root for the Gators, cuz if not my coworkers come in pretty surly after a loss

Best hit of the year was the one that Gator Cornerback just put on the Sooner receiver in the first two minutes of the game. This should be a good one.
