Billy Powell..had the honor of seeing the band several times, of course Tom Dowd needs to be credited for his magic and what he dod with this band. "Billy Powell on Piano"..those famous words by Ronnie on "One More from The Road"...outstanding keyboards....

Congrats and sweet love to Byard and Elithia. I was shocked to read about the passing of Billy Powell. It's a sad, sad, day in the world of music. Absolutely loved what he could do with them keys, could make me smile anyplace, anytime....he was one of my early inspirations as I was learning piano. Somehow I think these guys will last forever....:cry: God Bless the Powell, Skynyrd, associate families and friends.....prayers of strength and love.

Billy Powell was one of my favorite all-time rock n roll keyboardists. I knew he wasn't in great health, but still shocking. Skynyrd's One More From the Road is still one of my fondest records (the expanded CD version is a must-have). His piano playing and organ throughout just complemented that guitar band so well. I wasn't old enough to see the classic lineups of 1973-1977, but their 1987 Tribute tour, where Billy, Gary, Leon, Artimus, and Ed reunited are still two of the most memorable, electric shows I've ever seen. Hard to believe that was nearly 22 years ago now. RIP Billy.

Actually it's a remake of Elvin's "Struttin' My Stuff" from his Capricorn album with the same title. I'd love to hear the ABB do this way more than "Drunken Hearted Boy." There was a reason it was left off LAFE.
