God Rest His Soul - The Allman Brothers Band A man lay dieing in the streets A thousend people fell down on their knees Any other day he would have been..... Preaching Reaching all the people there Oh Lord Lord But Lord knows I can't change what I saw I Say God Rest His Soul The Memphis battelground was red Cause blood came pouring from his head Women and children fallin' down..... Crying For the man they loved so well Oh Lord Lord But Lord knows I can't change what I saw I Say God Rest His Soul (I breake here) Solo But Lord knows I can't change what I saw I Say God Rest His Soul The morning sun will rise again With all the passions growing thin What we gonna do when war is come.. and we'r dieing Dieing for the cause I know (yeah but) But Lord knows I can't change what I saw Say God Rest His Soul

Hi Allman Brothers family and friends! The music of the ABB family of bands has been a huge part of my life and my family's life for years - never more than when my brother Tyler was struggling with cancer and looking for fun and relaxation and something to lift his spirits. Again and again he turned to the Allmans and Derek Trucks and The Band and the Dead and others when he needed to feel better or express something he couldn't say otherwise or just needed to feel in touch with friends. https://allmanbrothersband.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=XForum&file=viewthread&tid=116743 It's been almost three years since Tyler died and since then we've been looking for new and meaningful ways to keep his name alive and share some of what we loved about him. Earlier this year we incorporated a new charitable organization to support music therapy programs. It's called Music Never Stops: the Tyler Seaman Foundation, and we've formed a partnership with Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City. Beth Israel has an amazing music therapy department staffed by caring therapists who know how to heal and diagnose patients with music and who are devoted to scientific research. Working with Beth Israel we are creating a new music therapy space called Tyler's Room. The hospital will hire new therapists, buy new instruments and recording equipment and software to expand what they can do. It's going to be a great tribute to Tyler and it will make a real difference in the lives of kids who are going through an incredibly trying time. Music Never Stops: the Tyler Seaman Foundation (named for the Grateful Dead song, of course) is going to focus on music therapy programs for teenagers because we saw how much strength and inspiration Tyler drew from music. Everybody here knows firsthand how much music can mean to a person. That's especially true when you're young and starting to figure out who you are as an individual. Teens have a very specific set of psychological needs and we want to do what we can to help kids who are having experiences similar to Tyler's- we know how much music meant to him and we know there are other kids out there with the same needs. So we're turning to you for support. You can read more about us and our plans at www.TylersMusicRoom.org. We've just had our kickoff event and we have a lot more planned. To do it, we need all the help we can. Please share the word and consider making a contribution if you are able. Thanks for reading - y'all a great bunch.

Just got back from Scioto racetrack to see Gregg Allman tonight. Gregg really looked good. They played great , but the venue was worse than bad. The stage was set up on the horse race track, and the seats were the grandstands. People were walking around everywhere, buying hot dogs, pretzels, and popcorn, while the concert was going on. It was like going to a minor league baseball game. They go for the social event, and not the game. Greggs Hammond b-3 malfunctioned during the 4th song, with Floyd Miles singing. I watched Gregg as he signaled the band to keep playing. 2 roadies uncovered another organ from a case and carried it onto the stage. Removing the old one and replacing it, took all of about 3 minutes. It was like a nascar pit-stop. I did notice Gregg had 2 separate cups of liquid on his organ. He was drinking from one and then from the other. I hope one glass was lemon juice or something non-alcoholic to help his throat. He was "straight" , and his voice was strong. Marc Quinones was on percussion. I just wish they would have been playing in a theatre, or a better venue.
