Been really busy. GOT A JOB! start on the 6th. Starting to catch up on some of the shows I missed and I loved LOVED loved the Please Call Home/Leave My Blues @ Home combo, my very favorite GA 1-2 vocal punch of his career. Exactly how I lived much of my life, get you heart broken, forgive the person and get your a$$ back in the hunt and have a blast doing it!
Got a lot of music to catch up on.
Congratulations and Thanks to the ABB family for a great 40th Anniversary run. We love your music.
Thanks to Butch and the other folks at Moogis, we were able to enjoy all 15 shows. What a wonderful thing that Moogis is.
thank you to The Allman Brothers Band for all of the passion and great music you have brought me since 1969.
as Libby has said "thank you Duane for the vision".........indeed a pioneer.
thank you Lana & Rowland for making this website gig & gathering place happen.
thank you to Bert, Kirk, Lil' Jamo, Earl for Sound, Light Show Dudes from San Fran.
thank you Butch for the pure genius of Moogis........patience and perisistence paid off huge and just in the "nick of time" for the 40th.
thank you to all of the immediate family members of each band member who have supported these guys all these years.
thank you to all of the guests who took the time and made the effort to make this special occasion so memorable and incredible for us all to take in and now cherish.......forever.

onward !!!!
😎
Amen to Rainy and Origpeach. Thank you to Dickey Betts for writing and performing all this great music. You were the one who brought many of us in to this thing. And for that I am thankful.
BTW, loved the Blue Sky teases last night - I think Warren and Derek were speaking to Dickey with their guitars.
This has been a historical & superb run.
We are blessed to still, after 40 years, have an ABB!!
And,lucky to have DB & GS too..gives us more musical choices.
i am ecstatic over this run despite little complaints here & there.
The last 3 weeks have been filled with so much emotion. It took me back to a time when I was young and life was so simple and easy. I was making 65 cents an hour at my after school job and $1.50 a yard cutting grass for some of our neighbors on Saturdays.
This was good money for a kid then and I was very thankful and fortunate to have these jobs!!!
This money paid for my 1st guitar which I never properly learned to play or a concert ticket that would cost $2.50 to $3.00 back then.
Rainy thank you for posting your thoughts on the man who helped write and play the music we are all so fortunate to be able to still have today 40 years later. There are many of us here amoung the family that share these same thoughts and feelings.
Years ago I got so dissapointed after one show that I refused to spend any more of the money that I worked so hard to earn to see the ABB again.
Many, many years went by and I realized I as only cheating myself out of some of the music that I loved so much and the soundtrack of my early life.
This celebration was not complete for me without Dickey being a part of it. When the dark cloud reference was made in the Moogis interviews I saw that all was not forgotten and forgiven so that the ABB could all come together for just one night of celebrating the legacy of Duane Allman with Dickey Betts being part of it.
I too am thankful that Dickey is still out on the road playing and sharing his gift of music with so many of us.
Many thanks go out to the ABB and my friends and family here for the 15 shows we have been able to enjoy and re-live some of the years that have now past both good and bad.
Much love and peace to all of you.....
For any one fortunate enough to catch all of the Beacon shows on Moogis or live at the Beacon....I feel we just witnessed something we'll never see again, by any other band, in our lifetime. If there is another band that plays at that level w/that many guests and songs over 3 weeks and 15 shows, PLEASE let me know.
Thank you, Butch, for Moogis. Thank you, Allman Brothers Band, for making Moogis one of the best decisions of my life. 😎
'Feeling blessed this morning...
nice post Rainy...i wish them all peace...
thanks to Butch and The ABB...unreal...we had the same sense of family in the Moogis chat area watching the show , as we do here...really amazing..
Thank you again ABB for 40 yrs. of the best music out there today! See you at Mtn. Jam. Thanks also to Lana and Rowland for this site and all the other things that they do to enrich our ABB experience. We are truly one big extended family. People from all over the world brought together by a common interest in great music and the vibe it creates. Thanks for being the tight family that we are. Peace to all--see you in the months to come--AW
Good Morning ... Very nice, Rainy. Everyone in my family would back what you just said
Well now that the Beacon run is over ...just a thought...
People shake there heads on both sides ..blue and brown....
I will say Thank You Dickey Betts for all the music you created and had a huge hand in making the ABB as famous as they ONCE were.... with out you and your direct force and leadership .. there would have been no 40th celebration or 10, 20, 30 etc..
Your musical footprints , musical hand prints are all over everything Allman... I know Duane would have been proud of you and all your accomplishments...
Keep touring so I get to see and hear the sound and tone I fell in Love with.
God Bless Dickey Betts...
Another GREAT Beacon run comes to a close. Thanks to everyone who shared with us. Waiting patiently for the rest of the summer tour dates.
Peach !!
Lets pick a show, pick an evening, and have a Moogis get together this week.
I agree with you, Michael.
I don't typically dive into these "taking sides" disputes...
My view of the difference between a long set with the guys from the Grateful Dead (whom I still love and will see on 4/15) and an entire second set and encore with Eric Clapton is that Duane Allman was a HUGE part of Derek and the Dominos.
They played ABB tunes and D&tD tunes on 3/19 and 3/20, as I recall. That's how I see it, but it's just my opinion.
:looney:
Regardless of your view or "side", enjoy your Sunday! 😀
no matter all of our likes & dislikes this was 15 nites of moogis magic & musical bliss--THANK YOU ABB & THANKS BUTCH FOR MOOGIS!!
I think that is whats called a double standard....
Just watched Bobby and Phil with the boys last night and it was phenomenal, there were some very special moments. Then I read the GB and saw a bunch of "too much dead" remarks. That saddened me because I think it's all about making great music and stretching the boundaries of what has been done, and taking it to another place. Something the ABB doesn't do too often so I think it might have been the best show of the run. It was great to see all my favorite musicians play with the Bros. this time around. Left me wanting more....Funny I didn't hear one bad comment when Clapton took the stage for most of the second set, for 2 nights!
PEACE
Not for download, no.
And please don't slam the band for NOT offering downloads.....
Will the audio of the Beacon shows be available for download anywhere? Thanks.
