OMG - another one gone too early -
Lynyrd Skynyrd bassist Ean Evans died yesterday (May 6) in Mississippi following a long battle with cancer.
Evans joined the veteran Southern rock band in 2001, following the death of former bassist Leon Wilkeson.
In a posting yesterday on Lynyrd Skynyrd's website, the band wrote: "It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of longtime Lynyrd Skynyrd bassist Ean Evans. Ean put up a valiant battle with an aggressive form of cancer and he will be sorely missed by family, friends and fans."
Evans was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He began playing music at the age of five and was a member of several southeastern rock bands throughout his career including Five Miles High! and The Outlaws. He was also a renowned studio musician.
Evans is survived by his wife, Eva, and their two daughters. Lynyrd Skynyrd will reportedly continue their ongoing world tour with a replacement bassist.
thanks Paulann!!!

Here's the Amazon site for the Cirque Docu

I was just saying if he and A-Rod were on the same team, both of their heads could not fit into the clubhouse - wonder if the Dodgers had a clause in his contract that if he did get suspended, they do not have to pay him his full salary of gazillions
Never liked the guy anyway.
Overrated and arrogant
Manny Ramirez suspended for 50 games for testing positive for PED

BadLittleDoggie2: A docu was made for Bravo on the Cirque.
Wouldn't that be Les Whipping Post, Lefty? (as in Les Brers) 😀
Also, since the Cirque theme next year is Vaudeville, if the ABB all strap cymbals to their kneecaps and guests get pulled off stage by a long neck hook cane, then it may just work out.
Once the band show venue is determined, we should rent a warehouse type space where a small stage can be set up and loud noise made in a location where nobody will care. It can hold parties, music and no hotel staff to worry about. Get back to the roots of what rock is about.
As an alternative Randy, why don't we tie the Cirque people to the Whipping Post?
The wheels turning a bit here....
Perhaps a new venue means new opportunity. For the Sweeties, for Scotty and the left-coasters. The parties and jams were more fun than the show to me. Perhaps some new possibilities, perhaps the glass is half-full.
eapfp
or NYC's historic Town Hall -
I love Circus Soleil or however you spell it - but have never seen them live - I always wanted to see a documentary of how the performers train which I know is a lifelong thing
Whooo Hooo - just got tickets to see Robert Randolph at the Tarrytown Music Hall on May 28 - its been way too long since I've seen him - I am SO excited - and its just right over the bridge for me (close to home).
Now if I could only find some Yankees tickets - and that they find some way to start winning too would be good - LOL
Scotty, if you're getting two nights at The Greek, odds are pretty good you'll at least get a Mountain Jam sandwich of some sort.
What is the seating capacity of the Hammerstein? It looks like a neat old opera house that might be a decent venue.
The band will sell out every show if they come play in south florida.....we would welcome them with open arms.
Birthday greetings to all those celebrating....
seems like a fantasy that eh allmans will be in california next week...
