The new instrumental was slightly different. It didn't have the big chord at the beginning, like they did it at The Beacon. I found that intro to be similar to Les Brer. This time it just started with Warren playing the theme. The Fox is great. Wonderful staff, very friendly, they greet you at the door, very relaxed. We were at the stage right in front of Gregg last night and our section was like an Amsterdam club. Security didn't care. Plenty of room up there to dance also and the sound was great. The Fox is a wonderful venue, I really hope they play there again.

...Remain alert!.. Hmm, well, it was the same "New Instrumental" I heard at the Beacon on March 13, but, as I said, the setlist that Brian gave me last night said "New Instrumental", so..... πŸ™‚ :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: THANK YOU LANA!!! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: THANK YOU ROWLAND!!! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: ..the world needs more lerts!...

Unless it's another new instrumental it is called Orfeo. Butch had already told us the name during the Beacon run and how they came about it. I'd have to hear it to know for sure...

This band is so tight. Great show Wed, but my highlight was Warren's playing on Dreams...WOW!

...Remain alert!.. FYI: Brian Farmer gave me a setlist last night & it said "New Instrumental", so, I'm thinking the band hasn't named it yet, or the name IS "New Instrumental" :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: THANK YOU ROWAND!!! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: THANK YOU LANA!!! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: ..The world needs more lerts! 😎 ...

Butch should adopt Derek so these "journalists" don't look like assuming wham bham word spewers. After correcting the "journalists" error, it should then be corrected to the "Trucks Extended Family Band"....

This is just 2 Dam funny----->Original members Gregg Allman, Jaimoe, and Butch Trucks now are joined by Derek Trucks and Warren Haynes on guitars, Oteil Burbidge on bass, and percussionist Marc QuiΓ±ones. But with the band comprising only one Allman and the father and son Trucks - shouldn't they be the Trucks Family Band now? Okay, probably not, but Derek Trucks is the finest musician in the group at this point. He plays with a style that owes much to Duane Allman, and while he and Haynes play many of Duane's licks verbatim, Derek Trucks is able to expand and expound on that template. His playing even took my mind off of how the fans' Dead-style twirly dancing involves a lot of side-to-side motion and constant bumping into people, especially me! Can't these boogiers be polite like punks and just jump straight up and down? But, I digress.

...Remain alert!.. Howdy! Y'all a great bunch!! Another AWESOME ABB experience at the Fox in Oakland, if they're coming to your town, don't miss 'em! they're on fire!! 2 GREAT nights, turnitup really nailed it about last night's show & more of the same tonight! Lotsa smiles all around the stage, I think even Jaimoe did once πŸ™‚ Biggest surprise & highlight of the night for me was Warren taking the lead on "Dreams"!!! 2 Dreams in Oakland, a Derek on Tues. & Warren tonight! Too much!!! 2nd highlight was Butch playing a REALLY big bass drum (think marching band size plus) meanwhile Otiel sat in Butch's chair, then Butch moved to the tympanis, then back into his chair-TOO COOL! 3rd highlight: the New Instrumental! & Whipping Post closing the first set! Fox Theater, Oakland May 13 8:21 Done Somebody Wrong You Don't Love Me Midnight Rider New Instrumental The Sky Is Cryin' Come And Go Blues Good Morning Little School Girl Whipping Post break 9:38-10:17 Revival The Same Thing The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down Leave My Blues At Home Dreams (WH)> In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed 11:34 encore 11:36 Southbound 11:44 AWESOME 2 nights!! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: THANK YOU ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND!!! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: THANK YOU LANA!!! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: THANK YOU ROWLAND!!! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: ..The world needs more lerts! 😎 ...

It is pouring rain in Oregon. I had to cancel my gardening gig. It was on a slope with Oregon native plants. I am going to sew cat toys. You will be here on Friday. After all these years. Then you will be at my favorite venue besides the Greek Theater in Berekely, Columbia Gorge Amphitheater I am &*^%$# BROKE! And I swear the tears are running down my cheeks as I write. Its been raining way tooooooo much... The sky is crying... little tears... Its supposed to clear up and be beautiful. The gorge is so beautiful. Bring your jackets it gets windy and think of me.
