I spoke with Skip last night, he’s a truly remarkable man. I didn’t think it was possible to have any more respect for him than I already had, but I do. He and the girls were together, sharing remembrances. I am so proud to have Skip as a friend, a brother. Sail on Sherry, you’re finally free.

LiveNation announces 'No Service Fee Wednesdays,' making both LiveNation and Wednesdays less hateable Jun 1, 2009, 11:33 AM | by Aly Semigran Beginning this Wednesday, June 3rd, LiveNation will offer, for the first time, no-fee concert tickets for hundreds of shows (bands included in the special are Coldplay, blink-182, the Killers, Dave Matthews Band, Kid Rock, No Doubt, Toby Keith, the Allman Brothers Band, and New Kids on the Block, among others). As service fees are the bane of any avid concert-goer's existence (that and people who wear shirts of the band whose concert they're at. Really, guy?) it's nice to finally catch a break. LiveNation.com will be selling 5 million tickets starting this Wednesday (the special goes the full 24 hours), but there's a catch: all non-fee tickets are for lawn seating only. While other no-fee deals will continue on Wednesdays throughout the summer on LiveNation's site, it's a pretty safe bet this week's deal will spark an all-out frenzy for tickets on the cheap (I'm looking at you Phish fans!). What do you think, Music Mixers? Are you excited about this news, too? Or bummed that you already bought most of your summer concert tickets?

The Good Captain took me under his wing when this bird was on the big med battle, he sent me kindness and amazing music. Of all my music, his hold the highest place in importance. We only met for a few minutes once, we have chatted about someday, car cruise, visit, something. I can say for a fact he is the most stand up guy on this site, no offense to any other fine people. God Bless him in these dark times. Blue Skies will come again Brother, just different....

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Sherry Littlewood. Captain Skipper is such a fine man and has given so much to us all. He served his Country with Honor and has been so generous is spreading around the music. Words cannot describe how I feel about Skip. I am a better person from knowing him. I am so sorry for your loss Skip and may god watch over you and your Family. Please call me anytime you may wish to talk. Peach.
