It was 38 years ago today that I had the highest high of my life, sitting in the fifth row on the Atlanta Municipal Auditorium directly in front of Duane Allman for the afternoon and evening shows by the Allman Brothers Band -- two shows in one day. I've written of the experience and most folks here have read the story -- but if you have a copy of the tape from that memorable day, 7-17-71, pull it out and give it a listen today. There has never been a better band.

Bee, thanks for those kind words. Are you in contact with the Tolar brothers Dan and Frankie? I've been told they live in Sarasota or maybe Bradenton. My memory isn't too clear lately. Well the ride was wild and I wouldn't change a thing. I will always love the Allman Brothers and friends. My memories with Gregg will be in my family after I'm gone. I have a photo album of the band between 1980-1990 in NY area. Hope to meet ya' one day. GOD BLESS. I'm still the Midnight Rider. Always be the "Dreamer"

Ca, thank you sooo much for the kind words. My eyes are filling up. I have always tried to treat others the way I want to be treated. No one is perfect and that is fine. We all have out monents. The world would be a dull place if we all were perfect. I just try to be the best person I can be. Richie may not make it to the show with me..even if he gets better, he can't be in large crowds, but I will smile and dance for him!!! He is holding his own today, thank you God. Thanks again, my friend and to everyone else here who has been there for me for the past 10 years. I am honored to gave so many wonderful friends. Peace

Deb, will continue to keep your good buddy in my prayers... i am so happy for you scoring good ABB tix, and know your good heart would give up even those tix , amongst the things you love best, for a friend. that being said, remember you will have friends at the show, looking forward to seeing you! NOTHING like an ABB show with Deb, she smiles SO BIG..tears of joy in her eyes, and dancing the night away.. I have never seen another Soul enjoy an ABB show as much as our Deb (and Ive seen quite a few) Would so love to see her get a chance to meet and greet the band one day... Leah, yes, the little darlins are back at school already... Kevin and I stayed for the Pledge of Allegiance this morning, before heading to work... I love the children so..I love this country so.....One Nation, under God..Love it or leave it... :clapping: Al..stay strong!Ca

I HATE THIS !!!!!! Now, on to more important things..my dear friend Richie has taken a turn for the worst. He may not make it. I am asking for all of you to say a prayer to him....it is in God's hands now. Don't think he will live to see the ABB show in Oct that I got tix for..........I would give them up in a heartbeat if my firend can beat this cancer and live. Pray for him & his wife, Michele and their children. I LOVE HIM very much.

I don't believe that for a second he is the Commander and Chief for heavens sake and I am a staunch Republican and a 21 Year Veteran I have never once felt that way of any of America's Presidents. That is a horrible thing to say.
