The Allman Brothers Band

Another great show! More mellow than the Friday night show but the band was on fire. Revival opened the set and the boys played their hearts out throughout the show. Don’t Want You No More/It’s Not My Cross to Bear followed. I haven’t heard that one live since 1980. Gregg’s vocals on Old Before My Time were some of his best, my fave song from the new CD by the way. I Walk on Guilded Splinters got the crowd jumping and was a nice surprise to hear in the middle of the show. The band did a good job on The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down and Warren tore it up on Good Morning Little Schoolgirl. Statesboro Blues rocked and they did another amazing job on Dreams. Derek is awesome! What a thrill to hear them close the show with Liz Reed! The encore was One Way Out, great song! I wish they could have played for another 4 or 5 hours that night. Once again, if you get the chance to see the band at Red Rocks, do it! It was an excellent weekend, one you will always remember.
