The Allman Brothers Band

The ‘Toy Factory’ opened the show. They were the precursor to the Marshall Tucker Band. They seemed to be a motley collection of hillbilly hippies, and were ok, but not great. The ABB performed a very tight, professional show. I vaguely remember Duane saying ‘We’re gonna play another tune by Elmore James, ’cause we like Elmore James’. The tune was “It’s My Own Fault’, if my menory is correct. (But I may be confusing this with a previous show I attended in Oct. ’70 in Columbia at the Carolina Coliseum, where the ABB opened for Johnny Winter And.) I don’t remember anything about the show closing because of curfew issues.
