Two Breitbart staffers resign in aftermath of alleged assault by Trump campaign manager

Not one, but two Breitbart reporters have quit because of how Breitbart has handled an allegation of assault against Donald Trump's campaign manager that has been made by one of the reporters, Michelle Fields. A third person, a freelance PR person who served as a spokesman for Breitbart, has dropped Breitbart as a client.

Breitbart's Michelle Fields, Ben Shapiro Resign Over Trump Incident
Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields has resigned from the conservative news site over its response to her alleged assault by Donald Trump's campaign manager.
Her colleague Ben Shapiro also resigned from Breitbart, saying the site should be "ashamed" of "their treatment" of Fields, whose allegations of assault came amid escalating violence in and around Trump campaign events.
Fields accused Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski of grabbing her arm so hard she bruised as she attempted to question the candidate at an event. She wrote an account of the incident, as did a Washington Post reporter who said he witnessed it. Politico also published an audio transcript that purportedly captures the interaction and moments immediately afterward.

CNN Host Asks Ex-Breitbart Spokesman if Outlet Is ‘Lying’ — He Offers Blunt, Three-Word Response
The public relations official who said on Friday he could no longer serve as a spokesman for Breitbart told CNN that he believed the website had lied about an incident surrounding allegations Donald Trump’s campaign manager assaulted one if its reporters.
Kurt Bardella, who dropped the conservative website as a client, was asked by CNN host Don Lemon about how Breitbart had dealt with an accusation from reporter Michelle Fields that Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski committed battery against her at a Tuesday press conference.
“Are you saying they are lying?” Lemon asked.
“Yes, I am,” Bardella brazenly responded.
Bardella said as “the evidence became more clear there seemed to be resistance from Breitbart in supporting Michelle.”
“It’s something I just couldn’t understand,” he said. “I certainly don’t agree with it.”
Bardella said it was “very clear” that the website is “very supportive of the Trump campaign” and had “skin in the game.”
A spokesperson for Breitbart was not available Friday night for comment.
Bardella’s resignation Friday came as video emerged appearing to show Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski grabbing Fields’ arm as she attempted to ask the billionaire a question following a news conference.
Lewandowski had adamantly denied the charge and on early Friday morning called Fields “delusional” in a tweet.
Trump, for his part, said that he thought Fields “made the story up” and advised one reporter to look into her past. “Check her out, just check her out,” he said.
Fields filed a police report alleging “simple battery” was committed by Lewandowski.

I don't know what the full story is here about what went down.
this is a husband and wife resignation I think although its not being reported.

Ben Shapiro and Michelle Fields are not married to each other.

Where did you see/read that?
Perhaps it's not being reported because it apparently isn't the case. According to the wiki page about Ben Shapiro, he married Mor Toledano in 2008, not reporter Michelle Fields.
Seems to be a lot of smoke rising from this one, including a witness from another news outlet, even though Trump and Lewandowski have denied that any fire exists, with Lewandowski calling Fields "delusional" and an "attention seeker," while Trump accused the reporter of having "made up" the incident.

Don't count on it.

Don't count on it.
Not in this cycle anyway, Trump's is thriving off of it too much for him to do anything to quell it.

Candidate after candidate down through history thrives off anger.

True to some extent. The anger Trump is fueling is different, IMO. And don't try to tell me anger is anger...that's like saying food is food without recognizing that food comes in countless shapes, forms, tastes. Trump is fanning the flames of vitriol and the more violent side of anger and using it to his advantage unlike any other politician, certainly unlike any I can remember in my adult lifetime.

Michelle Fields, the reporter who claimed Donald Trump’s campaign manager assaulted her lied.
There are no witnesses to her claim. Washington Post reporter Ben Terris claims he witnessed the incident but when questioned by the police refused to answer any questions citing his right to keep confidential his source. So, is he a witness, the confidential source or is he, just like Ms. Fields, a liar?
There is video of Donald Trump’s campaign manager Corey Lewandowski at the time she claims to have been assaulted being far away from the area.
So much for the liberal media’s hype of an incident of “Trump violence” that did not happen.

Glad to see you finally admit that Breitbart's reporters lie. All of the rest of us have known that for a long time.

Wrong.
Ms. Fields was a free-lance reporter on a stringer contract with Breitbart as well as other media outlets
Of course if you were informed you would know this.

The Post reporter who witnessed the incident reported on it:
"As security parted the masses to give him passage out of the chandelier-lit ballroom, Michelle Fields, a young reporter for Trump-friendly Breitbart News, pressed forward to ask the Republican front-runner a question. I watched as a man with short-cropped hair and a suit grabbed her arm and yanked her out of the way. He was Corey Lewandowski, Trump’s 41-year-old campaign manager." https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/style/inside-trumps-inner-circle-his-staffers-are-willing-to-fight-for-him-literally/2016/03/10/4b2b18e8-e660-11e5-a6f3-21ccdbc5f74e_story.html?tid=a_inl
She was a staff reporter, not a freelancer. Even Fox News says she was a brietbart reporter: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/03/14/breitbart-reporter-editor-resign-over-response-to-alleged-assault-by-trump-campaign-manager.html
Two more breitbart staffers have reigned, making it four total. Im addition to Fields, editor-at-large Ben Shapiro, national security reporter Jordan Schachtel and Jarrett Stepman, an editor have all resigned as well over Breitbarts handling of the alleged assault.

That means she worked for Breitbart. If you could read and understand English, you would know that.

As I said, "worked". Past tense. Your remark, as usual, added nothing. 😛
