Right or wrong, Trumps running the campaign on his terms. the liberal media is hysterical that Trump will not abide by their ridiculous PC guardrails on issues like immigration and border security.

Most common sense Americans understand what he meant by his latest comments. They can see it with their own eyes such as the latest wave of undocumented minors and can conclude the border is porous, the border is NOT secure by any means and sewage is flowing into the states unchecked.

Just can't relate to anyone who refers to other human beings as "sewage."

Statistics show that Trumps comments that the majority of illegal immigrants are criminals and rapists is pure BS.

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/ruiz-trump-rants-criminal-immigran ts-disproven-data-article-1.2291500

He is making ignorant statements and using hysteria over illegal immigrants to get people worked up as it is the only way he will get any attention. The Democrats cream their shorts if that idiot got the GOP nomination as they would rip him to shreds.

I guess Trump is a fan of Nazi Germany since he is now using them in his campaign. 😛

Nobody is hysterical except the right wing voters that Trump is trying to appeal to. The vast majority of voters do not need his over the top remarks to know there is a problem with the borders. The vast majority of voters also know that Trump has little knowledge of anything that occurs outside of his little world.

Hysterical? Everything Trump says is hysterical (although it is not meant to be). I am so hoping that he will be the GOP nominee. The debates will be the best thing ever!

What is hysterical is the man himself. Trump is hysterically funny. His delivery is off the charts & over the top. He is an entertainer personified. It is also not up to the electorate to know what he means. If he is a serious contender, he should be able to articulate exactly what he means. I've heard several of his speeches and interviews - full of rants, rage, and insults to the GOP, to Dems, and to interviewers.

He fails miserably on specifics unless one believes his statements like 1) he'll have the Mexicans pay for a wall or 2) Russia would turn over Edward Snowden if Trump was President, 3) he'd want to bomb the hell out of Iraq's oil fields in order to strike at ISIS, etc. That's just the beginning.

And he's considered a a candidate to take seriously? He is good for the opposition party and toxic for the GOP.

Do you think he will get elected POTUS? Do you think he should be?

I don't know if he will get elected but I cant iunderstand all the vitriol surrounding this guy on this website. Scott Walker is also someone I am paying attention too.

Intresting comments. The man runs a global organization and he has little knowledge outside the NBC apprentice studio?

The man is a real estate developer and entertainer, i just don't see how that translates into being a world leader. he does know how to hire people to get the job done of building his projects but i personally don't see that translating into a cabinet that will do his bidding. most of what he says is hyperbole but that is true of all candidates, even obama. there is very little to believe of any candidate while in the campaign mode. obama is alot like bush who was alot like clinton. on the world stage they are all alot alike no matter the rhetoric. it is social policies that seem to differentiate them. IMO

He runs a global operation? you mean having his line of clothing made in China? That makes on expert on.... nothing. If this is a guy you would support, I will have to believe you easily fall victim to over the top rhetoric.

Which has nothing to do with Trump referring to people as sewage.

I've met Trump several times. I made a lot of money selling food to construction workers at Trump Park in Manhattan and at Trump Castle in Atlantic City. The Trump Park job was when he fixed Wohlman Rink. He and Mayor Koch came in for lunch on two occasions. Pretty cool. They both had great swagger.

I hope he gets the Republican nomination. If he does it will make for a highly entertaining election.

Isn't his election slogan, "We shall over comb?"

For the record... I plagiarized that slogan. Don't know where I saw it or I'd cite it.

Did the server divulge the tip amount? I like finding out what rich/famous people tip, who the good tippers are and who aren't.

I once served drinks to Bill Russell for the better part of the afternoon at a Polo Match in San Antonio and got a $5 tip.

Hah! I didn't paint the appropriate picture. My Uncle had an "Industrial Catering" company. We set up on construction sites and monopolized breakfast, coffee break, lunch, and afternoon break for the workers. Trump Park was a pretty small job but great location, right on Central Park. It was just me and 4 other guys. We worked out of a wooden shanty built by the construction lifts surrounded by each Union's shanty. Basically a flat top grill, an oven, stove, and 2 big ass coffee urns and a couple of reach in refrigerators.

We made bacon and egg, sausage and egg, ham and egg on a hard roll sandwiches for breakfast. Made heroes for lunch. A couple hot sandwiches. Sold cigarettes and beer. You could probably play a number and fill out a football ticket - I can't say for sure...

Anyway, Trump just bought a sandwich and a drink. In the morning I'd give him coffee, just like I'd take care of the Shop Stewarts. The two times he bought lunch he paid with a hundred dollar bill and said keep the change.

Dom Deluise came in a couple times too. Ron Howard once. It was a really good location.

John Gotti was on site pretty frequently. I don't remember any money changing hands with him.

That was the early 80's when New York was dirty, jacked up, and criminal. I had a blast.

He's the flavor of the month, but still only has 17% support (and the above only totals to 65%, so the vast majority support someone else or are undecided). And you didn't mention the same poll says that 61% have an unfavorable impression of him and 23% a favorable one, a net-negative rating of 38 points. Bush's favorable-unfavorable rating is 35%-42%.

The same poll also Trump him getting crushed by Hillary (Bush also losing but much closer):

"While he leads the GOP field, he fares the worst of seven hopefuls in hypothetical head-to-heads against former secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the leading Democratic nominee. Bush, the strongest candidate against Clinton, lags by four points nationwide, 46%-42%. Trump trails by 17 points, 51%-34%."

funny, at least you can deduce Trumps positions on

1) Immigration
2) Trade Deals
3) Iran Nuke Agreement
4) Keystone pipeline

If Hilary is so huge right now surely she must have communicated her positions on these issues in order to help people decide? She is in hiding right now, not answering questions. Why is that? I would back off the "hillarys a lock" descriptions.

Who said Hillary is a lock?? You put it in quotes like I said that, but I certainly have not. I'm just sharing more details from the same poll that you posted about. Personally, I don't think any of it matters too much at this stage, still 15 months out.

As far as why she isn't out there more yet, its simple. She doesn't need to be, and it would actually be bad campaign strategy if she were. With 15 (or 31, depending on your perspective) declared GOP candidates and no clear-cut front runner, the dynamics are a bit different for them.

You should have included this in your cherry-picked quote of what I said: "You put it in quotes like I said that, but I certainly have not."

Exactly gondicar! some people here forget this is politics so there is no reason for Hillary to communicate her platform this early in the process. She has a huge poll lead for the Democratic nomination so she does not have to waste time and money campaigning this early.

The GOP is so splintered at this point it is smart of her to let them tear each other apart trying to separate themselves from the pack of wannabee's. No need to expose herself to the GOP hate machine this early in the election process.

As far as her being a lock if you look at the polls she is about as much a lock as you can get at this point. Of course there is still plenty of time for her to self destruct but as of today Bernie Sanders is the only real contender and he still trails her by over 30 points in every poll.

Regarding Trump he is the flavor of the month and when things get real he will fade out of the picture IMHO. But I think the Democrats would be drooling if he won the nomination as he would get torn to shreds by them in a campaign.

I don't know where or how these polls are conducted, but I think it's a joke. I know a lot of conservative types and not one of them would vote for the Donald for dogcatcher.

Personally, I think the media is promoting by over-reporting on Trump. I mean, I've heard barely a peep about any of the other Republican contenders - including Jeb Bush. Instead of constantly updating us on Trump's progress (or blunders), I sincerely wish the media would devote some time to other candidates - especially those in parties other than Democrat and Republican. At least give the public some sense of who the others are and what they stand for. I'm sick of having only two choices. If it comes down to Donald and Hillary I'll stay at home on election dy.

Grin good catch gondicar. Don't know why I always think of Barry Sanders when I am trying to say Bernie. I wanted to google Bernie the other day to check out his political record and put in Barry by mistake. Got a good laugh when all the links for Barry popped up.

Go Lions! Grin

I went to see Stephen Stills in Richmond last night. Early in the show Stills referred to his teleprompter and then made a few jokes about Trump. There wasn't much support for Trump in that crowd. A bunch of old hippies no doubt. Later in the evening Stills ended the second set with "Keep on Rocking in the Free World". It isn't often when a concert reminds me of the Whipping Post.

Driving home I was listening to Julie Mason on the POTUS channel. She and her guest were talking about the election and discussing percentages of the electorate. According to that channel the percentage of registered Republicans is in the mid 20's, Democrats mid to high 30's and Independents are now in the upper 40's. There point was that the Republicans are the minority party.

I thought that was interesting but not interesting enough to keep on listening. I threw on some "Legion of Mary" and let Jerry Garcia play me on home.

Trump had a low favorability ranking in the polls, then he calls Mexicans rapists and drug dealers, and then his favorability among Republicans more than doubles and he becomes a frontrunner. Nobody can tell me that he hasn't been paying attention to the direction of his party.
