Trump: Muslim ban ‘just a suggestion’

http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/presidential-races/279576-trump-muslim-ban-just-a-suggestion

I suppose anything a candidate for President says is just a suggestion in all reality.

So a political campaign is just a contest to see who can lie most effectively?

It's was a broad statement, a starting point from where refinements and negotiations begin.

No one should be surprised. The Donald is not a man of principal or conviction.

Before November he will admit he is not a conservative. Not that anyone really believes he is a conservative nor truly affiliated with the GOP. The GOP is just a means to an end for him.

I have heard Trump say that about every policy position he has been called out on for being idiotic.

It just doesn't matter what the guy says. It's fascinatingly entertaining and deeply terrifying all at the same time.

i hate to defend Drumpf but, i mean Obama "suggested" he was going to close Guantanamo. i mean how outrageous is too outrageous? not that Obama's was but, what we as voters take to mean as a promise to do something? is it the candidates fault or the voter's?

maybe its manipulation? we are all manipulated everyday by something. has becoming, or has it always been, the president been a contest of the best manipulator?

He's in incremental Libertarian. Likes freedom in pieces he's comfortable with - not so much a guiding philosophy.

But, better than Bernie of Hildabeast in terms of liberty? By a wide margin

I don't know what Fuji thinks, but think about the Donald as prez and co-host of Entertainment Tonight simultaneously. Makes sense since it would be hard to draw lines where one ends and the other begins.

Fuji turned me on to Gary Johnson four years ago. He's running again this year and may get my vote again. It won't make any difference in the cosmic scope of things but at least I'll be able to sleep at night knowing I did not support the greater or lesser of the two evils.

Why should this surprise you. Trump is nothing but an impulsive immature egotistical sociopath narcissist empty suit. He knows nothing and just answers with what is popular for the day. He has no standards, no core beliefs. He is a con man hack job. A year in and still no nuanced or detailed policy plans. Nothing but I am winning in the polls and make America great again and believe me and little Marko and Lyin Ted and low energy Bush and ugly Carly. The most detail you get is the moronic we ill build a wall and Mexico will pay. This man is a walking, talking disaster area with zero substance. I have never in my life seen somebody so in love with themselves who listens to nobody but himself. Some say he will surround himself with the smartest and greatest. What does that matter when he is an egomaniac who thinks his instincts are always right and he never listens to anyone but himself. He has blown off most of the advice from his advisors with his silly immature personal attacks. He screams and rants and raves and says stupid thing after stupid thing. He calls everybody liars while lying through his teeth. Almost everything he says is false or extremely exaggerated but his supporters are so star struck that they are hypocritical when it comes to Trump's constant lying over and over and over again. It is ok for everything that comes out of his mouth to be a lie because he is not a politician. LOL! This guy is a dangerous character with the stupid impulsive un edited things he spews. Those who are willing to roll the dice with this crazy bastard be my guest. Don't ever complain about low info voters because anyone who would support this clown are as low info as they come. I just pray that nothing like the Cuban Missile Crisis comes along with a maniac like Trump in charge. Had he been in charge then a lot of us would never had existed. He is not mentally fit to be the one dealing with other crazy egomaniacal sociopaths like Putin and Jong Il.

For the record I am not for Hilary or Sanders. I am anti Trump at all costs for the good of my country. I would have crossed party lines for the first time in the general had the Republicans nominated slam dunk winner Kasich who I think is a decent and respectable man with a pretty good record although I don't believe in all of his views. I believe he could actually get some things done. A mute point now. So I will swallow hard and vote for Trump's opponent and then pray that there are enough sane people in this country to keep Trump out of the White House.

He is justifiably afraid of ISIS and fighters with their beliefs. Regarding some of the other Muslims, he will have to be educated and become a 'candidate of knowledge' like the Talibs who are 'students of knowledge'. If he truly knew THEIR beliefs, he would not fear them. They have many common beliefs, like the sovereignty of states and nations. The Afghans never wanted to take over any other country, launch war on any other country or force their beliefs on any other peoples. Osama's beliefs were somewhat different (ie. Syed Qutb's beliefs).

There is a serious lack of knowledge, but I am sure between now and election time or shortly thereafter at least one person will try to bring Donald up to speed with the Muslim situation, some solutions.

His call for a ban, is to protect the borders of the US, until he knows who the people are who want to come here and is reasonably sure they do not plan to do any attacks. There are common beliefs among the Jews, Christians and Muslims that can help to unify all of them against the New World Order. If that does not happen, the carnage will be greater than it has to be. It comes down to one very basic question, do you bow down to Satan and the pleasures of this world, or do you take your beliefs from God who promises you something better after this world. While you are here, you are supposed to adhere to the guidance you received, either as a Christian, as a Muslim or as Jew. The laws are not that different, they revolve around how we are supposed to treat one another and how we are to live. The prophets and messengers were chosen to help explain that to people but you know how that turned out. ('oh Noah you're a fool, Moses why did you drag us out here to die here, etc. etc.)

The anti-Christ WILL rise. I told you where to look for the bloodline and progeny. Revelations told you that also. His coat of arms was described image by image in Revelations, and lo and behold, his son will not become a King and world leader. It's not coincidence his coat of arms was designed 500 years ago.

Some will not understand, they were not meant to.

This guy is a dangerous character...

Donald Trump has no power without his supporters and their votes.

The real danger lies within within those around you, those empowered to hoist someone like Trump into power and who are willing to do so because they've been brainwashed into thinking he is the best available choice.

What are Trump issues? Let's see...

Jobs/Economy
Border Control/Immigration
Debt Reduction
Tax Reform
Healthcare Reform
Military/Taking care of Vets
Second Amendment Rights
US/China Trade Relations
Fighting Terrorism

By comparison....LBGT equality, global warming, racial justice, free college are neat ideas too, but.....

If you wonder why Donald T. is garnering support, feel free to refer back to the above. Just a guess, but I'd venture to say that a little more than just brainwashing is at work here...

Other than building a wall and somehow getting Mexico to pay for it, there sure seems to be a lack of spacifics as to what he is going to do about the other things on that list. Only "I am great and am going to do great things, trust me." Nope, offer me specifics and maybe I won't consider you a joke. I trust Trump less than I trust a fart after eating at Taco Bell. The man has no clue as to what to do about anything, and his fans don't seem to care. They are the same people who until just recently criticized Obama for not having experience. The man is a successful real estate developer, but never ran a successful company. Nothing but a con man, but apparently a good enough con man to con a huge percent of the US population.

People follow Trump for the same reason they followed David Koresh, Jim Jones, and Sun Myung Moon.

Agreed. I don't see brainwashing. I just see all the dysfunctional cancers in our country rising up to vote for what they feel.

The brainwashing I refer to is the distortion of facts that leads to the feelings you refer to. For example, the constant narrative about how the USA is in the toilet, that Obama and Hillary are criminals, etc. People are voting based how they feel about lies embedded in conservative propaganda.

Kinda like huge numbers voting for deeply detailed concepts like hope & change

Hope & change empty or not is at least a positive message to get behind. Trump's message are both empty and highly negative in nature. The supporters of such a message are in a different category that the hope & change crowd.

Make America great again is negative?

Secure the border is negative?

Negotiate trade deals fair to American workers is negative?

Reform the VA is negative?

Tax reform is negative?

I get how maybe you and others don't like the guy. I'm not terribly fond of him. What's amazing is that so many can't see the empty suit occupying the Oval office today, but see Trump clearly as hollow. They are 80-90% identical in terms of effectiveness, truthfulness, and character. They differ only on issues and style.

Highly negative? Somebody must be listening to a different Trump. Or maybe brainwashed into thinking it's negative.

His rhetoric is overwhelmingly negative, but some have been duped into thinking otherwise.

He's not a blowhard, he is just opinionated and says what he thinks. He doesn't care about being politically correct and Americans seem to like his honesty.
