All I can go by is what I see in my own little world, here in small town NW Indiana, I see a good many of my good old white trash neighbors, who seemingly have no comprehension of how to contain or dispose of garbage as it usually litters their yard, driveway, street etc. Their children are generally ill educated, ill mannered, poorly clothed, poorly fed and foul mouthed, on the other hand I have noticed that a vast majority of my Hispanice Friends and neighbors have neatly kept houses and yards, there children are neat, well manbered and polite......... just a few personal observations. .........Peace.......joe
I would gladly trade a good many of my good old ignorant and racist neighbors for some of those waiting at the border, but I am pretty damn sure Mexico wouldn't want our riff raff?
When I walk my dogs through the neighborhood, I sometimes run into an elderly Hispanic Grandma, she must have loved dogs as a child , because she just lights up and gets so excited! I want to say to her, "I love You Grandma" but I don't know how, so I just pat my heart and she does the same. Our mutual love and respect really needs no words!

They are using new tactics Luke. They know they cannot come across with thousands of people so they are trying to send smaller groups to get in. The problem is they have no legal basis for seeking 'asylum' they are not persecuted in their country, they are not in a war zone, they are not going to be tortured if they stay there or be arrested and imprisoned. Asylum is for things like that. Not liking where you live, or there being no jobs or housing doesn't qualify for asylum status. They should:
1. Apply to legally come here and wait their turn like everybody else,
2. or sneak in covertly, work in lousy low wage jobs that hire illegals, send money home the way many others do and come here later. If they save enough money they can
3. Get a green card wife/husband and get citizenship. They can they divorce that person a year later and bring in their real husband/wife and live happily ever after making that person a citizen.
Those are the paths to citizenship for poor people from other countries.

How many of these people have you talked to? How many of these people do you know anything about their background or personal situations. How do you know they have not been persecuted?

Luke, call it a hunch. I just can’t see an actual friend of Dickey’s going on his band’s website to announce it and brag about it as if anyone cares. Actual friends tend not to mention it out of respect for the person. You seem more like a crazed fan that forced your way into his life and he feels to sorry for you to say anything. I don’t care what else you have to say about it.

LUKE, if You see this, I just wanted to say that I hate to see that Your posts got blanked, or You blanked em!!? Wether I agree with a particular argument of not, or hell, maybe even started an argument, i feel like obviously, this thread and this place in general, are much less robust and loses something, when someone maybe feels necessary/pressured to retract an opinion or censor themselves, I also kinda enjoy Your perspective because it has so many differences from mine, North/South, conservative/liberal etc. I also enjoy Folk's stories, such as Your Dickey stories, heck I have hung out by a bus or two, just to hang out and say hello to a musical hero and get an autograph once in a great while........Peace........joe
