"Women would take it each night. A doctor would have to determine whether a woman seeking the pill was suffering from a disorder characterised by a lack of sexual fantasies and desire, causing the woman distress".

REMARKS: What right do Doctor's and pharmaceutical companies have to try to tell people what their sex lives should be like?

If a woman does not desire her partner, society thinks she should just get a pill to fix the problem. If she does not desire her partner, maybe there is something wrong with him and his ability to create desire for her. (ie. Lazy, not very good skills). It could also be she is physically exhausted trying to do all the things she is doing. If she works and they have small children, what time does she have to get up in the morning? 12 hours later is what time? What time are the children in bed? After putting in 16 hours already now the Dr. wants to say what is wrong with you that you don't want to stay up for more hours for sex, here take this pill.

A Dr. has to pry and ask her why she doesn't want to sleep with her husband, seems too intrusive. He has to ask her about her fantasies. Should he give her scenarios as examples?

If she gets no joy from her partner, they should both go to her gynecologist and rule out a physical problem with her, but how far are these Dr.'s supposed to go in educating their patients so that they will 'qualify' medically for this sex aid? Many of the problems between couples are due to communication. Neither one wants to hurt the other one's feelings or self esteem. That's one reason people cheat, they want their desires to be met and they aren't being met. Porn started dialogue, but then people had to categorize women as ho's or saintly wives. The double standard came into being and now the answer to that dilemma seems to be Female Viagra so that the saintly wives can be more like ho's but with the excuse of having a dysfunction and a pill making them be wild.

All I know is Spring Break in Florida will probably never be the same, because we all know there will be a black market for these pills.

Side effects: but with a warning about potentially dangerous low blood pressure and fainting side effects especially when taken with alcohol.

So, this is a legal rape drug?

A Canadian company just paid a billion dollars for the “female libido” drug. It sounds as if there is demand. Bill Clinton and Bill Cosby investing?

Female libido pill maker Sprout bought by Valeant for $1 billion
By Aaron Smith @AaronSmithCNN

Sprout Pharmaceuticals, which won federal approval this week for its female libido pill, is being bought by Valeant Pharmaceuticals for $1 billion.

The deal comes two days after Sprout received approval from the Food and Drug Administration for Addyi.

Sprout describes Addyi as the "first and only" FDA-approved treatment for sexual dysfunction in premenopausal women.

Valeant (VRX)is clearly hoping that Addyi will emulate the success of Viagra and become a blockbuster drug. Sprout said it will be on the market by October 17.

Addyi is a treatment for hypoactive sexual desire disorder, defined by Sprout as "a persistent absence of sexual thoughts, fantasies, responsiveness and willingness to engage in sexual activity that causes personal or relationship distress."

Addyi, also known as flibanserin, was studied in more than 11,000 women before it was approved.

Valeant, a Canadian company, will pay $500 million in cash up front, and another $500 million after the deal closes, in the first quarter of 2016.

Sprout CEO Cindy Whitehead will continue to lead the company as a division of Valeant.
Valeant, which has U.S. offices in New Jersey, a hub for drug makers, has been buying up companies. It acquired Salix Pharmaceuticals in April, Solta Holdings last year, and Bausch & Lomb Holdings in 2013.

'an absence of the willingness to engage in sexual activity causing relationship distress'
What does that mean, that the husband can have her declared to have "hypoactive sexual desire disorder' and then medical America demands she be treated?

How far will they go, will judges order wives to take the pill because of the husband's marital rights?

Putting in the legal language that the couple is suffering from "relationship distress" seems like the first step to forcing her to get treatment. If they wrote the 'indications for usage' in favor of the woman, they would not be adding in 'fantasies' and 'relationship distress'.

The marketing is different, for Viagra and Cialis, the marketing was directed towards men who had a physical dysfunction, so they "could" be ready when the moment is right. They were given choices to determine when THEY WANTED to use it, so they could be ready when THEY wanted to be. The difference in marketing towards the pill for women is 'there is something wrong with you, and it is creating relationship distress, so you need to take this EVERY day, so that you will not resist.

The emotional part of intimacy is ignored, it comes down to just get your body ready. Perform on command. Where is the responsibility of the man to create the feelings in the woman that make her receptive to him? He is absolved of any responsibility. It's her fault, just give her that pill.

What happens when she takes that pill, willingly or otherwise and then has desire but NOT for her husband/partner? Can the partner/husband sue the pharmaceutical company? 'But you told us she'd want me, it's YOUR fault'.

Aha! The problem was not her lack of desire, it was just lack of desire for her partner.

The drug companies, the Doctor's have no business telling people what they should feel, or forcing them to feel a certain way, when they do they just become politically correct pimps.
