Firstly, nobody like abuse, or people conning to get benefits they should not have. But my problem is Trump goes into health and human service programs, and then re-allocates that funding for the wall; as he did with the food stamp cuts which also cut out school lunches for kids coming from poor and/or poor dysfunctional families. That's wrong. Now this is the new proposal.

It is hard enough for someone to qualify for disability, then they need to be persecuted? The insurance companies and the government probably also hires panel doctors who work for these "independent medical exam" companies, and their job is to deny insurance claims, it is almost rubber stamping these claims. It is disgusting, unethical and that is what goes on.

Typically people have to fight for two years to even get disability now they want to keep persecuting them? It is not like they are making huge amounts of money, they barely survive. If the savings are going to be used to build the wall, that is even worse. Infastructure money should NOT come from health and human service programs.

Sounds like a rude awakening for you. Kind of like waking up from a dream of being rescued by a knight in shining armor to find you are being molested by your dirty old uncle. How disappointing for you.

Anyone who is shocked that Trump, or any Republican administration for that matter, would go after such program funding has either been living in a fantasy world or been in complete denial about what the Right wing is all about...

There's nothing new about this other than that Trump wants to spend it on his vanity wall instead of tax cuts for the all ready ultra rich....But then again Moscow Mitch and Paul Ryan already made that happen so i suppose the wall now becomes priority number one since Mexico isn't paying for it. All this just in time for the 2020 election.

We're working to get disability for my girlfriend.

Her MS and other issues mean she can only work a couple hours a day, two days a week.

This won't help at all.

It does not effect me personally, I just think it is more red tape against people already suffering.

The 2020 tax cuts will hurt more than those who need disability and food. They have hit hard on help with housing costs as well.

https://affordablehousingonline.com/fy20-hud-budget-cuts

$9,164,000,000 in critical housing programs.

$3,365,000,000 Community Development Block Grants [the money goes to the states and they divide it].

$2,775,000,000 Public Housing Capital Fund

$1,790,000,000 Public Housing Operational Fund

$1,284,000,000 Housing Voucher Funds

$1,284,000,000 Home Investment Partnerships

$27,000,000 Housing for people with disabilities

$34,000,000 Housing for the Elderly.

So what is the impact? Cut school lunches, kids go hungry. Cut Meals on Wheels, seniors go hungry, get sick an die sooner. HOUSING? More homeless people, but homelessness will be criminalized, and the people will be picked up in white govt. vans and taken to places never to be seen or heard from again.

Where is humanity and compassion? It's not in the budget.

With all the Trump ass kissing you have done over the years you have some gall posting this. Anyone with a functioning brain could have told you this was coming. The cruelty is the purpose.

I really did not think that cuts effecting poor, hungry and old people would be considered acceptable by anyone.

Maybe we should ask the 2020 candidates what programs they would fund and cut to achieve their budgets. If they do not know, then they need to have a plan and disclose it to the people. I do not agree with all of Trumps policies or decisions. I think hanging out with Jeffrey Epstein was an example of bad judgement. When there will be millions of people trying to emigrate to the U.S. when the fires scorch the lands in Mexico and make it unlivable as well as areas south of there and they are told no, you cannot come in, I think that will also be unacceptable.

They could be trained and work. They could build solar powered businesses, homes and people could just stop being so greedy. I think tiny houses are too tiny, but small homes could be built for people on foreclosed properties and governmental land that they are not doing anything else with. The very wealthy could do something about homelessness and starvation in their states but they do not. They throw some money at the problem but do nothing to help bring people up to dignity. They do not care.

There will be mass die-offs of people due to many things and we are watching it happen slowly but surely.

I've had lyme disease for eleven years,100% loss of hearing and sight on my left side, can't taste food, have no balance/equilibrium,chronic pain(180 vicodins a month), permanent bells palsy, and I also have failing kidneys according to my nephrologist.I applied for SSDI and was immediately rejected, I had a lawyer waiting in the wings and it was reversed in less than 2 weeks, because I'm bipolar, so bipolar I didn't even know it, but I've had a long enough documented history that I all but forgot about. If ugly racing thoughts burned calories, I'd be emaciated, when you're bipolar your mind becomes a helluva burden.

Bi-polar 2 is one of my honey's "other issues" along with the MS.

Then you are not a student of the Trump family history of illegally evicting human beings from rent-controlled housing or making low income apt buildings uninhabitable (e.g., releasing rats, cutting off heat, setting fire hazards, turning off water) in order to build sparkly high priced condos. You apparently also missed the character lesson about then-NYC Mayor Guiliani's commencement of his policy to arrest homeless for sleeping outside starting on Thanksgiving Day 1999.
