Congrats to the GOP for their landslide victory. As John McCain pointed out, "But this is not a time for celebration," he said. "It's time for government to start getting results and implementing solutions to the challenges facing our country, starting with our still-struggling economy."

I'm enthusiastic about their ability to turn around the economy. Let's see if they take the necessary action to promote business, and counter Obama's policies that they so highly criticized. In fact, I expect to see action on ALL the issues they rallied against, especially foreign policy.

Edit: I expect to see results. Action that fails to produce positive results is failure.

McCain is wrong. It IS a time for celebration.

It appears that Harry Reid's strategy of putting the Senate in lockdown mode backfired.

What will be the reaction to the action? I fear that Obama will now run wild with Executive Orders while Reid still holds the reigns in the Senate until January.

Now the party of "no" will actually have to do something.

The continuing saga - can Boehner actually get something done in the House with the Tea Party Faction continually putting an anchor around his neck.

Let's see if Obama will catch up to Bush on the number of vetoes Bush exercised.

They are going to pass bills. Obama will probably veto them. Who's the obstructionist then? The new Congress was not elected to implement Obama's agenda but to thwart it.

No matter how many times this is pointed out, they still can't grasp the concept. The voters once again made that clear.

No I didn't and I'll tell you why. I don't consider divided government to be obstructionist. I don't consider it obstructionist to block unpopular legislation or to veto legislation the president disapproves of. I think its a feature of our constitution and our system. Got it. So a double standard is OK as long as it fits your position & view. Couldn't ever work any other way than your perception.

Right...dems = obstructionists but repubs have some sort of understanding for whatever your final incomplete sentence means.

Haha!...So explain, "The Party of NO"....Will the Dems become the same said party when they consistently vote against Republican ideas?...I believe they will. There is your double standard. The pendulum swings....

"But this is not a time for celebration,"

Yes, it is.

Hopefully McConnell will repeal some of the rule changes that King Harry made to the Senate. Make it a deliberative body once again-- Debates, votes, amendments offered by both sides, passing a budget, and what not. That would be a good first start for Mitch.

Are you really that naive that you think the Republicans will change rules that they can now use to their advantage? I fully expect things to stay the same in that regard.

Obviously my response flew over your head. Nowhere in there was I crying, just stating that the Republicans will use the same tactics as they do not have a veto proof majority. The party in power changes all the time, but the politics of power doesn't. If you weren't as dumb as a rock, you would know this.

Crying? I think we all pretty much knew the GOP was going to take back majority in the Senate so that was no surprise. My question to you if the People are so fed up why didn't the GOP win more seats? reason= turnover in Congress is cyclical and will change hands again in the not too distant future as very few Presidents have ever enjoyed having a majority in Congress. That is not an opinion Mule it is a historical fact.

The people have spoken yet there is a Democrat in the Whitehouse who was reelected despite the Dems losing even more seats during his reelection. Enjoy your small victory and we will enjoy having won the war with 10 more years of a Democratic President.

Why are you celebrating?

Because the Liberal agenda makes me want to puke.

How many Liberterians were elected?

The payoff for me is the amount of Liberals sent packing. I am substantially closer in principal to the Conservative viewpoint.

Btw, Libertarian is the correct spelling. You don't want to be seen as "Dumber than a rock" by consistently misspelling such a simple word.

So now that the GOP has a clear majority, you come out of the closet and celebrate. I would tell you I am shocked, but that would be as much of a lie as you claiming to be a Libertarian. 😛
