It doesn’t neatly fit into the necessary nationalistic political view, but every hour of every day around the world, scientists, doctors and nurses are working and dying to help solve this. Even Chinese ones.
It’s a virus and we are all human beings. The virus doesn’t care where you were born, who you voted for or how much anyone hates anyone else over politics or any other reason.
The New York Times is anything but a "nationalistic view" and they have an abundance of stories of Chinese obfuscation.
If you are saying, let's not focus on blame and finger pointing now and get through this, I will sign up to that. What I am saying is if we are going to engage in blame and finger pointing now then let's look at all culprits.
If Billy has a stuttering problem we can either make fun of him or we can find him a speech pathologist.
It seems very "non-PC" to call China out over their responsibilities over the spread of coronavirus. Our current leader probably should do so in a gentler tone.
China has a history of infectious diseases making its way over their Great Wall. I can think of 3 or 4 in the past 20 years. Now, we can chastise them for this (which will bring chastising to those of us who do so) - or we (the WORLD) can work with them on issues of sanitization and the prevention of biological viruses by helping them to clean up and by educating their population.
Again - all politics aside, here. Coronavirus has literally brought the world to its knees! We cannot go through this every other year.

Criticize whoever you want. The issue of wet markets in Asia is a serious one.
To be very clear - I have no issue or anger with Chinese people. My issue is with the GOVERNMENTS of China and the United States.
If you have a small fire in one room of your house - call the fire department IMMEDIATELY! China waited until flames were rolling out of every single window before calling this to the attention of the rest of the world. Our own president was initially very dismissive - preferring, instead to hear about how regulations affecting the vaping industry was coming along.
I also have issues with state and municipal decisions made all over the US. The Georgia Governor (who would lose in a flash on "Are You Smarter than a Third Grader" (whatever)) started last week by calling for a "stay at home" order (a smart move) only to open the states beaches by the weekend. Oh, yeah - in between he announced (on WORLD-wide television) that he "didn't know that people not showing symptoms could be transmitters ..." - which brought eye-rolls and disbelief from pretty much everybody.
I have issues with the American PEOPLE - many of whom refuse to accept that this disease is a thing at all. I will not delve too deeply into those who insist on hoarding toilet paper. You can get acceptable "social distance" at the super market most anytime. But if you want toilet paper - you have to be at the store when it opens the morning after their truck delivery. I wonder how many sufferers got their illness during a tug-of-war over a Charmin 12-pack. Sick, sick stuff.

Joe,All we have to do is watch Trump's pressers for the fountain of misinformation to spill out from him. His delivery on message is suspect and in other cases, factually inaccurate. You article backs that up. I saw a member of the press question him yesterday on a topic like this, and in his SOP he dismisses the facts. He tells the reporter, "You know and I know..." as to dismiss the premise of the question. He has resorted to this regularly the last 3 plus years when he actually did pressers, but now the pattern is more evident since he's on TV daily. He can't handle being challenged on the facts. His ego and narrative won't allow that.
Thank goodness for the doctors at the pressers who are capable of presenting a balance to Trump based upon their skills and based upon science.

The president didn't have the country prepared either. For starters, he disbanded the unit that dealt with pandemic situations back in 2017 along with other cuts to the CDC.

President Trump did not call the coronavirus outbreak a “hoax”
He was quite specific in the speech that he was referring to the Democrats making the coronavirus a political attack tool which to this day they spew everyday.
Fake News misreported it and the left picked up on the Fake news lie and ran with it because it fit their political agenda.
