Presidential Election Results

Posted by: @porkchopbobI don't know what the world will look like 3 years from now, but one thing I worry is all of this antagonizing will provoke something. I do not trust this administration to respond well, and I do not trust this administration wouldn't see the possibilities at increased nationalism it could invoke.
Well, if I felt unsafe a month ago, I don't trust this administration to do much of anything to keep us safe after this week's debacle that clouded what should have been routine attack on agressors. Any other administration would have sucked it up, admitted Alfred E. Newman messed up and fired him. Even if it was just for optics, and quietly hired him back a year later. Instead this administration doubles down says "shit happens" and attacks the credibility of the journalist they involved, because they aren't held accountable by GOP congress or media. Not only that, but emojis celebrating the deaths of civilians is another level of horror.
And it's only been just over 2 months, people. These are vindictive children playing with very dangerous toys.

I did hear about this.
But I have reverted to disconnecting from news and current events. It seems wrong to do so, but it feels much better this way.

I totally understand. I'm paying attention, but a little less engaged. I'm not one to spend my days exhausted by current events that are beyond my control, but this administration is hell-bent on destroying everything - special education, national parks service, research, higher ed, international relations, disaster relief - out of spite. Government should do for the people what the people can't do for themselves, generally what is beneficial but not profitable, but this government isn't interested in doing anything for anyone but themselves.
