Classic bait and switch.

Indeed....And the money will wind up in someone's bank account never to be spent on any useless wall. Probably the bank account of an LLC owned by a Trump associate. As the saying goes, there's a sucker born every minute.

Doesn't seem like he is trying very hard to get Mexico to pay for it. They said no and he quit trying. The Democrats said no to US taxpayers paying for it and he shus down the government. For once he should keep his word and get Mexico to pay for it or just forget about it.

Mexico has American manufacturing facilities there so there, if we piss off Mexico, then can place tariffs on the importing of the materials we send there to the manufacturing facilities. We all know Mexico is not a manufacturing hub so the car manufacturers are getting parts coming thru the US side, also pharmaceutical companies etc. It all started with NAFTA all the trade deals, that's why we have so many problems in this country to start with. Why can't we eat the food grown here? We have to ship out and sell it elsewhere. What do we get in return? We import lousy Mexican fruits and vegetables that make people sick. It is also the frozen food. Go check out Green Giant and other brands, frozen Mexican vegetables. The frozen carrots I get are from Canada. I will not eat any Mexican grapes, if they come from Peru or anyplace in South America they will be fine, all that Mexican food is full of bacteria. America is being poisoned.

Please tell me this is fake news, and people are not crowdfunding for the wall. Who are these poor people? Anyone who donates should be round up, banned from procreating, and sent to live on a remote island in the South Pacific. I’ll donate for that cause.

Here I was thinking you had mellowed out a little this past year.

I have no issue with someone in favor of the wall. I think they are misguided and naive due to the archaic strategy, but that’s about it. But to willingly donate from your own pay????? I stand by my comments about those people.

You stand by your comments? Are you a racist, an econo-snob, or someone who believes in the old nazi ways of doing things of "I don't like you, can't stand you, so off to the camps you go!"

Oh Jerry. It was obviously tongue in cheek. But yes, i think it’s the height of foolishness to donate your own money to a border wall.

Changed your story now that you've been called out huh?

If you feel it's worth it, why not donate money to it?

Not at all. Banning procreation and forcing people to live on a remote island was obviously an exaggeration to make a point of how I feel about them. But I think it's incredibly foolish and a bit deranged to do it, and if you are one of them, then I'm sorry, but it's foolish to think people can crowdfund $5billion. I donate to many charities - I would never donate to something like a dictator-wannabe wall.

But, you said "I stand by my comments about those people."
That sounds pretty firm on how you feel about those who would help fund a wall.

Gina, the border is not 800 miles long. The President is asking for a 1,000 mile wall. You need to add some billions to the cost.

Most illegal immigrants are those who get a visa, come legally, but then stay. The wall will not address this.

Likewise, most drugs enter the US through legal points of entry. The wall will not address this.

Why not create stricter penalties for those US businesses that hire illegals? You do know that Mar Y Lago has been on that list..

I don't know about poisoned, but I don't buy foreign produce unless it just can't be grown here. If it can be grown, sold and bought here that is what I buy. Grapes from California when in season or nothing for me. I can do without frozen broccoli from Mexico. Fresh produce from local farms is better anyway. I've always seen carrots and celery be USA, so I eat alot of that. Sometimes frozen veggies are nice to have around, so I'm stuck with the USA stuff. Typically peas, corn or mixed variety. I like clementines or whatever those little small oranges are "cuties". Got to watch those, sometimes they are imported, but if it says USA I buy them.

For all your craziness Gina, every now an then I just have to chime in and say...I agree!

As I said, my reasons aren't because of any poisoning or bacteria. My desire to buy things produced in the USA instead of imports extends to food. Maybe you like eat organic or whatever is important to you. Buying USA is important to me.

Did you forget the Rio Grande River?

"Maria Teresa"

Lights along the border
Two more lonely hours and I can go
Across the Rio Grande and Laredo
Cause Maria Teresa Marina Martinez
Is waitin' in Old Mexico

She's a rich Señor's daughter
And he sure ain't gonna like it when he knows
But I damn sure fight him and half of Texas
'Cause Maria Teresa Marina Martinez
Is waitin' in Old Mexico

High Sierra
Where evening breeze blows the tumbleweeds along
My Sombrero
And there's million stars and a thousand guitars
Always playing my song

Just a wild crazy cowboy
And I still don't like the way they rodeo
But I'll give up my wild oats for her sweet love
'Cause Maria Teresa Marina Martinez
Is waitin' in Old Mexico

High Sierra
Down where evening breeze blows the tumbleweeds along
My Sombrero
And there's million stars and a thousand guitars
Always playing my song

Lights along the border
Two more lonely hours and I can go
'Cross the Rio Grande and Laredo
Cause Maria Teresa Marina Martinez
Is waitin' in Old Mexico

Maria Teresa Marina Martinez
Is waitin' in Old Mexico

Remarks: This is from the Midnight Wind Tour. 😉

That caravan of people were not going to try to get visas. It is interesting there hasn't been much coverage on what has happened to those multi thousands of people. The drugs do enter through legal ports and big money and big players are involved in that or it would not be possible. I also agree businesses who hire illegals should be punished and sanctioned, but then again if they have to use legal labor workforce then they just raise the prices. I just think it is unacceptable to hire a bunch of migrants who pee and poop in the fields and then that food gets to our stores for us to buy and eat. The e-coli epidemic from those cantaloupes from Colorado a little while back is proof. Why can't they at least provide adequate facilities for the workers. It's not much different than the old days of slavery except now the slaves just move around to other fields to harvest the crops while living in squalid conditions and they get some money. The whole thing is sickening.

And you are right Trump should lead by example and not join in the exploitation of illegals at any of his resorts or properties. America has the mindset that hispanic, latinos, central americans are the ones who should be in the service sector jobs, cleaning, cooking for America.

I will still warn you in the strongest terms against eating any of those Mexican strawberries. DON'T DO IT! Anything that comes from a box that says "produce of Mexique", Mexique is still Mexico.
